Another comment that may or may not be helpful:

With any of my newer cars, it has been almost impossible to really tell if air is blowing on the "floor" or not.

To really determine that, you must open the door and stick your hand into the foot well and feel around a bit.
Often the air is directed so that it does not blow directly on your legs or feet.

Most likely as stated before, bad thermostat, fan, or something bigger within the hvac system.

Other than that, AC can be on/off and it shouldn't affect if the car outputs heat or not, since the car's thermostat should be able to detect ambient temperature and output to cabin until cabin reaches desired temp (65 being lowest set-able). I've always had AC on anyway, since I heard somewhere that it being on does give some boost to the heat. Heat requires a warm engine and AC requires electricity, which you should have off the bat.

ie...if it's 30 ambient and you set the car temp at 65, then car will output all the hot air it can until cabin reaches the desired 65, then car will just then maintain as needed for the 65 cabin temp

If you have 30- winters, you shouldn't need your temp set beyond 65...because I'm sure everyone living in such a environment goes out driving in some form of cold weather gear. No point setting your butt off in your car with all kinds of coats on.

    To stay out of specifics...
This is a "New" used vehicle.
    Sounds like something is broken.
Hoping OP has some type of warranty. I'd get it checked out ASAP. Hope it's not serious.

If the outside temperature is below freezing, the AC indicator will not turn on if you go into AUTO. You'll still get plenty of heat.

Just before I got rid of my Honda, one of its nasty quirks was that sometimes neither heat, AC nor defrost would work as the control panel was dead, got plenty of air though. Had to whack the panel to get it to work, so likely a bad connection.

Another one hoping the OP has a warranty on the car and can have it checked out soon.

Must be a change from the 2012 and the 2015-current controls. When I was in Kentucky sitting in 0 degree weather, the AC light was on just fine... but I don't ever use AUTO... it never turns off in the summers down here. :D

Since you bought it yesterday you have some sort of warrenty so instead of trying to figure out the many causes of what could be wrong with it from the internet you should probably take it back to wherever you bought it from and have then fix it.. just one person opinion.

    Well then please DON'T be.

NONE of what you said helps anybody at all.

I have a '17 C and it is very slow to produce heat, even around 35 F.
It appears that just starting it and letting it sit will produce almost NO heat.
You need to actually drive it.
