HELP!! BatteryMinder question

    Be careful with a diode. You need one with probably 5+ amps of capacity or it will overheat.

    In addition, any diode has some forward voltage drop. It's just much less than the reverse breakdown potential. If it has a 1 V forward drop, the charger will see a happy 13V battery when the battery is really 12V (no so happy).

    Since the 7 mA is consumed while the BatteryMinder is unplugged from the wall, I don't think it has anything to do with the desulfation (which only happens when plugged in). I think ~ 5 mA is for the green LED light and ~ 2 for other electronics.
