    Re: Got mine replaced.

I've only had mine a couple of weeks and it's already beginning to sag a bit. I'm thinking about hot glueing a couple of plastic 'stays' to add some vertical support. If I do I'll post some pictures...just need to find an appropriate cheap, light weight, but durable/flexible material.

    permanantly mounted shades

just installed some permanantly mounted shades and so far, I love them. I hated having to find a place to stow my removable type. I'm in and out of my car 15-20 times a day so that was important to me. See them at http://www.agsint.com/eclipse.shl The only downside so far is the 1" or so of visibility that is lost along the left side "A" pillar.

    Jonathan,
That's pretty cool, I've never seen that before. How much did you pay? Does it fit to the top and bottom of the window even in the middle? Does it seem that it will always continue to retract neatly without jamming/folding improperly? Can you post a couple pictures of you shade installed in the Prius?

i got one of the front window models right after i got my Prius, and it's GREAT! only idiosyncracy is that it rolls up "inside out" from what i expected... shiny side out, so that the velcro strap can wrap around it. the velcro strap works great, but the inside-out rolling-up is sometimes awkward, especially if your front seat passenger is already in their seat.

    imho...
    :)

A question about the 2nd photo, the one showing the front shield from the inside: how'd ya get it to stay so flat? After five months mine works fine, but from day one it sags in the middle (which allows some circulation of heated air) and curls inward at the sides (which allows some light to enter). Yes, I do install it as directed.

I got my heatshields, and they look good, but many of the suction cups are either bent out of shape or flattened and won't work (about 5 of them) or actually broken (two of them).

Thanks! I was planning to. Actually, after I left the sheilds in the car, the bent-out-of-shape suction cups are now functional (though the 4 broken ones are still broken!).

I have the full compliment (all around) of heat shields. Good quality, good design, great fit. The hyperbole is true and the greenhouse effect is greatly reduced keeping the interior cool.

As we are now in autumn-winter mode, I park with the front of the vehicle facing southward and use the front windshield heat shield. My stainless tea mug fits just right between the dashboard and window for a snug fit of the heat shield up against the windshield. I store the others in the "trunk." In spring-summer I will use all the heat shields every day.

there! I have these shield for my "Y2K Bug" and it's great. I normally use all of the shades (to cover sides, too) in the summer.

Anyhow, I strongly recommend them. May I purchase one through you? Or shall I go direct with the company? I don't know if the offer is still good.

    Thanks,

I assume the 04 version will fit the 2005 Prius, correct? As far as I know there were no changed between 04 and 05.

Yes, that is correct. The interior dimensions are the same.
