For the price, the relay is good insurance to protect your wiring and eliminate ignition issues, especially with the cheap Chinese ballasts which have a much higher ignition voltage spike than the higher end ballasts.

Ok.. So I need fog lights and was thinking of switching out the lights in my headlights to HIDs. Should I then switch out the OEM fog light bulbs etc to HIDs as well?

Do you have a contact for Matt at TRS?

    Thanks
    Ryan

Here is the number for TRS: 614.653.3451

As for the foglights, it depends on what you use the lights for. If you regularly drive in heavy fog then I would say no. Keep using halogen bulbs. HIDs are not good for fog. If you just want them brighter and more white then and HID works fine. Just keep in mind that the beam pattern is very diffused and not focused so the extra brightness might blind other drivers. Some people don't care about other drivers but I bet they will care when someone is blinded and crashes into them. lol

If we choose to stick with halogen bulbs and don't drive much in fog, which would be the better choice
    PIAA

    Nite tech
    Extreme white
    Or plasma yellow

Or do we just stick with silver stars?

    Or another choice?

I've always preferred PIAA over the Silverstars. For fog go yellow not white.

The nite tech or extreme white?

I can't answer for you. I have never used anything but the extreme white bulbs and I only used the whitish bulbs. I have never used yellow bulbs so I don't know which you should go with. Sorry mate. Maybe you can call PIAA and see what they say. I just know the bulbs are generally very high quality.

    Nite tech = 3600K
    Extreme white = 4000K

Do you want less white light or whiter light?

I just want the best one.i drive a ton at night on dark roads. Which ever one that would provide the best lighting,I'd take. Heck I'm even thinking of adding auxiliary driving lights instead.

I recommend Nokya hyper yellow Stage 1 bulbs. 2500k color. Very yellow and practical. I've had these for over a year with no issues.
