    Ha, nice try.

If you actually commuted on the 118, you'd know that during the evening rush hour commute, the eastbound 118 comes to a standstill. In the morning, it's pretty slow as well, though not standstill. So, I actually use the sticker on my DAILYcommute. It's pretty obvious that you don't, otherwise you wouldn't have made such an ignorant statement. If you actually do live here, then you're making yourself look even more ridicuous.

So, YES, I practice what I preach.

Those who don't use the sticker daily are wasting it for those who drive on freeways with carpool lanes daily.

I have been commuting on the 118 for years and am quite familiar with the traffic patterns on it (between the 210 and the county line). It is one of the very last freeways in Southern California that still has the majority of traffic flow inbound (east, in case of the 118) in the morning and outbound (west) in the evening. The number of those who regularly commute from Los Angeles County into Simi Valley pales in comparison to those with a "traditional" commute.

I stand by my original statement.

No no no, you attacked ME for not practicing what I preach. I stated that people ought to USE the stickers every day, not just for weekends. I USE the sticker every day both directions in my commute. Some use it just for onramps. How is that an efficient use of the HOV stickers as opposed to someone who actually benefits from the sticker on a daily basis? You still haven't answered that. You can't because you know you're wrong. It's ok to admit fault. I won't hold it against you unless you continue to make ridiculous statements.

Westbound 118 is worse than eastbound 118 in the evening? You're quite incorrect. Check out the area between Porter Ranch and just east of Reseda.

As I wrote earlier. Practice what you preach and admit that you are wrong, since I am correct. I hope that your software product is better than your logic.

Had HOV stickers on my 2003 PRIUS which I removed before trading it in for my 2006.
I send them to the DMV with a replacement application as soon as I got the new car
(Sept 2006) and got a new set in about a week after that. :)

I use them whenever the traffic gets on my nerves and always on the on-ramps that have an HOV lane.

Note: I did not buy the Prii because of the stickers or the tax benefits ;)

Just as I thought. You can't dispute me, especially as to the areas I indicated on the eastbound 118 evening commute. You just repeat like a broken record that you're correct. That doesn't make it so.

Do this little test. Park on the overpass of the 118 at either Reseda or Tampa anytime between 5 and 6 PM. Look over the freeway and see which direction is more congested. Post your results here.

So Cal: 101 to 23 to 118 - to Northridge.

No car pool lanes to speak of (or make it worth using), but I go the stickers just to have the option in those rare times when I might drive solo in LA.

Leaving aside any arguments about the 'fair use' of the stickers:

No question about it, the commute on the 118 EAST is heavy in the evening commute, and 23 NORTH is heavy in the evening commute. The car pool lanes are in the SF Valley, and end at the LA - Ventura County Line.

The 23 SOUTH is always heavy in the morning commute.

The current construction will (I think) add car pool lanes.

With all due respect, you are the one who sounds like a broken record. You are still wrong.

No, I am not about to sit on any freeway overcrossing to view the passing traffic. Anyone with an internet connection has access to real time traffic speeds on just about all of Los Angeles County freeways, including the 118.

Oops, Sorry IsrAmeriPrius. Didn't intend to reply to your post.

I live in Newark and commute across the Deadly Dumbarton Bridge to Menlo Park. I have absolutely no need for the HOV stickers but I paid the eight bucks just to have them. The stupid things are butt ugly and I have not installed them on my lovely Driftwood Pearl paint.

Too bad, zazinc you self righteous bully.

They're tied to the VIN number. Does the certificate have your old car's VIN number or your new car's VIN number? There were still stickers available in 2006. You could have left the stickers on your old car and paid the $8 for stickers for your new car.

While I hardly use mine I'm glad I invested the $8.00. I read an article that used Prii with stickers can fetch up to a $4,000 premium. This might persuade me to trade my car in on the 2009 rather than keeping it until the stickers expire in 2011.
