I never looked/cared for the Prius. I rented one to go on a trip, I immediately threw away my TDI Jetta brochure and bought a new Prius the next week.
interesting........i consider myself "rich" only because i'm NOT spending 20/day on gas as I did with the other cars i've owned. 15/20 doesn't cut it! so that alone i'm already saving.
I test drove a TDI a couple of weekends ago. Somebody else on this forum said it better than I could have. "Great car to drive...not so great to own!"
If the TDI was $3K less, I would have gotten it. I am not going to pay them more than what I paid for the Prius since I don't think it is worth more.
That is the conclusion I have come to... But I have my Dodge RAM 3/4 diesel for the hauling jobs still. I gave up the tired Dodge Neon that got 30mpg on a good day. Maintenance costs were starting to rise on it...
Thats pretty much what i have said a few times. Somebody that drives a truck asks me why? well lets say your truck and my car last 150,000 miles. And that the average gas price over the next ten years is 3.50. I use 2906 gallons of gas @3.50 so $10,174 their trucks get around 15mpg they use 10,000 gallons of gas @3.50 a gallon so $35,000 in gas. so $35,000 minus $10,174 is $24,826 so it makes my car FREE not gay, or stupid as they might say just FREE
