Has anyone received a CA Green HOV Sticker yet?

Ditto! Wait, scratch that. Tritto! I received mine today, too! #8677 (I'm not shy).

Final timeline: Mailed application on 11/25/2012 with plate number (before receiving plates), check cleared in my bank account 12/24/2012, Christmas on 12/25/2012, stickers received from DMV on 12/26/2012.

Possibly the best eight bucks I ever spent.

Thanks Jerry Brown! I'll vote for you again if you extend HOV lane access for green stickers beyond the current expiry date.

The major CA state employee holiday vacations are nearly over and you'll soon be receiving your green tickets to paradise. And then you'll be on top of the world! Or at least to the left of everyone in the slow lanes...

I drove in the carpool lane Saturday by myself for the first time. It was awesome, loving the perks of this car.

 

One question on eligibility of green stickers in car pool lanes. I believe it is not necessary that these are valid on all the car pool lanes, is that correct? If so, is there any specific road/highway in bay area that doesn't allow green sticker?

 

No, not correct. They are valid in all HOV lanes.
They are NOT valid in some HOT lanes. At the moment, they are not valid in LA HOT lanes, but they are valid in all Bay Area HOT lanes.

Note that you need to put your FasTrak transponder in its Mylar bag when using the HOT lane to prevent yourself from getting charged the express toll.
Edit: rather, since HOT lanes do not have an occupancy requirement, the question is not whether the green sticker is "valid", but rather, whether it grants you free passage in the HOT lane. In LA, it does not, in part because the lane targets a specific speed and the pricing scheme would sort of break down if tons of clean air vehicles were using the lane but not paying anything. The HOT lanes in the Bay Area are set up differently, so the green sticker does provide you with free access to them — but you must remove the transponder every time you use them (so the discount isn't automatic).

It's 1/2/13, still no sticker. In fact, $8 check still hasn't been cashed yet.

 

See yesterday that DMV finally cashed my check after almost 8 weeks. Wheels of progress are especially slooooooow in Sacramento this time of year. Over worked and under paid I've been told......

 

I think I received the HOV stickers a little late. Although it was a holiday season, I think DMV's process was unusually slow. Anyhow, thank God I can drive a carpool lane from the first Monday of 2013! (This forum has been helpful while I was waiting.)

Finally, finally received my stickers yesterday. Was cruising in the carpool lane this morning.
11/05/12: Bought car (dealer took care of carpool sticker paperwork)
12/27/12: Check cashed
01/03/13: Check posted to online bank account
01/07/13: Received stickers

 

woah, dealer sure took his time submitting those papers

 

I dont think there was much of a delay by the dealer, but there was no advantage either. My timeline is almost similar, where I did it myself.
11/3 purchase
11/25 submit app
12/24 check encash
12/26 received stickers. (some how one batch during that time had a quick delivery of stickers, may be more to do with bank showing the posted date as later than actual submission)

 

I bought mine on 11/3 and didn't send app in until I got my plates on 11/16. I was surprised as to how fast the plates came.

It's generally taken people about a month to get their check cashed. Given the holidays, I suspect yours will get cashed sometime this week or next.
PS. I suspect you purchased the car before, not after, submitting the application? Lol

I'm so glad to have this current info on timing. For some reason I pictured about 2 weeks from mail to stickers -- I'm not sure where I got that idea, maybe old info, maybe someone here at work got lucky. Regardless, thanks for the more realistic expectation -- the longer wait would have been really frustrating otherwise. I actually carpool with another PIP owner, but there are only two of us so he is driving until I get my stickers. I'm going to owe him a LOT of rides!

 

Mailed Dec. 6. Received today Jan. 16. Yay!
