I don't recall any either. My "skeptic" comment was due to the fact that I've heard from so many people who are thrilled with its performance before they even order it. :)

What I'd love to do with all these devices is to secretly bolt it onto somebody's car (or remove it if it is already on there) and see if they notice when they haven't a clue that something has changed. That's the kind of testing I like to see.

I'm a skeptic about everything. I mean no dissrespect toward Brian or his products here. I just believe that more info is good info.

Based on your feedback, I've ordered the brace. I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival! I'm very perceptive in regards to how my cars feel so I'll report back in detail once the brace arrives.

    Thanks for your response!

Mine is due for delivery today.. maybe I can get them installed on both of my cars this weekend.. I too feel like I"m in tune with my car.

I presently don't feel my car rattles or squeaks at all, but I'm not driving it in potholes either... I feel it drives like a dream.. but side gusts here in the gorge can be disconcerting for any rig!

    Darwin -

Because we don't do the actual shipping, the PC Shop will never show your order as being "Shipped". Updated means that your order was received and sent to BT Tech for them to ship out. When I talked to Brian yesterday he said that they were almost done shipping out all of the existing orders.

I received the BT brace very quickly (Thanks Brian), and it was VERY easy to install. I even took the time to use a torque wrench when installing the bolts! B)
I haven't noticed any improvement in the "wandering" the car tends to do, and I haven't had any opportunity to take any curves really fast to see if I notice any handling improvement. But is sure looks nice!

my brace came in today. i was gonna do the install myself, but i dont have a torque wrench. drove a block away at a local repair shop to have it installed. gave the guy 10 bucks for it. took less than 10 minutes to install and we torqued it to 24ft/lb. The car feels better on quick turns---i'm yet to test it on the freeway, but i feel an improvement with the brace.

Hmmm... That photo DOES look anodized. Mine came power-coated, I believe. I wonder about the difference, is power-coating or anodizing better for this application?

Nope... ALL of our BT Tech Prius stiffening plates are type III hard coating anodized for superior protection. We have never used powder coating for this product.

    Thanks!!

Just for accuracy, the term is "powder" coat. Instead of paint, powder is fused to the metal with electrical attraction and then heat. And for this type of product, the finish really doesn't matter as far as performance goes. That they're finished with type III HA is very impressive though. That's what the military insists on for their aluminum hardware (like flashlights).

I worked at a metal Fabrication shop when I was young.... anodizing is nice for aluminum.... If I remember right "about 30 years ago!", it impregnates into the pores of the metal with hot acid and then is cooled and rinsed to end up with superior corrosion protection.

Oddly enough, anodizing Al is a bit like corroding it on purpose, to protect it from *further* corrosion. :) Regardless, if left raw, the thing would last about 5,000 years under there!

So how is it?! Mine is moving at a glacial pace across the US and is destined to arrive in Los Angeles on the 28th. Windstrings, any improvement? And what happened to docvijay?

I like the stack of plates.. it's like those stacks of gold blocks, at banks, you see in movies. :)
