I like heading out to the back part of my property, setting up my targets, and then releasing stress with my .22 rifle and my black powder pistol. There's nothing more impressive than the smoke and fire from firing that pistol. Ammo for the .22 is so cheap, that I can go through trememdous quantities of ammo for next to nothing.

Other times I like to stretch out on the rug and call the dogs over. They'll come over an plop down right beside me, and I'll just lie there and pet 'em untill they fall asleep.

[The Scene: Jury Duty, Sacramento County Courthouse. September 2005]

After twenty or so potential jurors were questioned and dismissed, it was my turn.

When asked what I do during my free time, I said, “I can’t believe that, so far, I am the only one to say so . . . I admit it . . . I watch TV.â€

The courtroom broke down in laughter.

Thankfully, just about everyone after me said, “I watch TV too.â€

I was condemned to two more weeks of torture as a sworn member of the jury. Damn honesty gene!

You should have told 'em all you watch is CSI and Law'n'Order, and you feel like a professional crime-solver. That you hoped you got to read the verdict, just like on L & O. With a glint in your eye.

    That mighta gotten you off.

I liked Abba. Yeah, they were slick, but I love tight harmony. I think they had the most decent songs in the shortest period of time I ever saw.

You bet! (how's that for Minnesotan)

There are at least 4 or 5 in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. I've also seen them in Chicago and St Louis. I'm not sure they made it much further west than here though.

"you betcha" is a common midwestern backwoods term, almost as good as "ya shure" (spelled to try to portray accent) :)

heard often in places like Up Nort but rarely Down Der Hey.

(i grew up in wisconsin, and will go back one of these days!)

I sneak over to Prius Chat two or three times a day! Don't tell my husband. He thinks I'm working while on the computer.

And I'm planning to eat any, and all, of our leftover Halloween candy. Yum! Kit Kats, my fav.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN, FOLKS!

South Carolina Football. I love it. I can't get enough of it.

When I'm not at games on Saturdays I'm reading in the newspaper or on the internet about what's going on with the team.

The only game I'm missing this year is the Arkansas game because 1) it's too damned far away and 2) I've got the season opener to my 2nd addiction - Charlotte Bobcat basketball.

This town is so sick about college football and we miss it so much in the spring that we put over 40,000 people in the stadium this past Spring for a SCRIMMAGE. During the summer we go out to our tailgate spot and just site there, waiting for September to come.

And oh yeah, today is a great day because Saturday we beat TENNESSEE!!!!! (and I was, of course, there).

I loved Lou Holtz. Heard him speak at a high school banquet is 1970, when he was just getting off the ground.

    Spurrier's harder to love.

Former coach, South Carolina; before that, Notre Dame, among other schools. Gives the most inspiring pep talk in the business.

    I like the Devo hats.

If you've ever been the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the hats are a great blast from the past.

I also admit to having an Energy Dome (the upside-down red flowerpot).
Devo was always great in concert, they put alot of energy and thought into their performances.
