Goodbye BMW, Hello Prius

Who says the Prius isn't a beautiful car? Love how cool a white Prius with blacked out tint and rims look...a little jealous that I chose the Nautical Blue for my Prius... Personally, if I was going from a Beamer to a Prius, I would sell the Beamer and use the excess funds to go on a trip overseas, or drive cross-country in your Prius visiting National Parks and camping out in it, but that's just me

 

Gave up my 330Ci when I purchased my '07. Never looked back. There comes a point in life when you realize that there are better things to spend money on then keeping an expensive vehicle running!

 

Would one of them be keeping an expensive spouse running??
(He says with tongue in cheek as he prepares for a 45th anniversary cruise to Rio de Janeiro!)

Actually, a year after I ditched the BMW, I traded in my wife for a more compact, economy model. Between the two, I am saving money, and there is much less maintenance...

 

I also have a German model--wife, that is, not car--but she survived being bombed by the USAAF in WWII (although one bomb blew off the front of their apartment while she was huddled in the basement) , and she is fully appreciated, so I am loath to try to trade her in on a newer model. Thus, the Slow Boat to Rio.

 

Like I always say, "If it works, don't fix it!" Enjoy Rio!

 

Welcome to the club. There seems to be many new Prius owners and new "Prius Chat" members. We newbies will rely upon the experience and knowledge of the veterans.

 

Sold my BMW a while back and thought it was the best decision I ever made. Doors leaked, sunroof leaked, burned oil, leaked oil...list goes on.

It's been like 8 months and I'm starting to miss it. Nothing drives like BMWs. But atleast expect your Prius to be trouble free for many years and miles. 75k on mine and nothing but routine maintenance(oil changes are a piece of cake, but mostly brakes/tires). I did have a few issues but those were caused by me(ie rinsing the underbody too much and it ruined an ABS sensor. Wheel bearing 15k after hitting a curb).

 

Thanks for the heads up BlzzPrl2010. I was just thinking about spraying underneath mine. I think I will hold off.
