Maybe YOU can explain why Pelosi & the DC Mayor refused Trump's offer of national Guard troops in Dc for January 6. they were the ones ultimately tasked with protecting the Capitol. That was part of the job responsibilities they were paid for.

 

DC has a NAT GUARD unit that POTUS can deploy over the objections of the DC mayor.
IIRC, it's mostly Military Police.
The troops that deployed in '21 came from out of the DC area and were mostly individual augmentees.
Not sure what any of this has to do with Tesla other than its CEO openly supporting the leading Presidential candidate in the current race.

The United States Capitol Police has the primary responsibility for protecting life and property at the Capitol - NOT the military.

whoever it was, they looked woefully undertrained. too many of our protective forces are caught off guard when something actually happens.

Says Trump. He OFFERED but did not sign the ORDER because those responsible for the security did not want it. The US President is not a dictator that can overrule all the government beneath them.

Those directly responsible for security didn't feel the Guard was needed before Jan 6. When they did ask for them, it took the White House an hour to sign off on it. Neither Pelosi nor McConnell could order the National Guard directly.

Titularly, the DC guard is the only NatGuard unit that reports directly to POTUS.....BUT IIRC that authority is delegated to the SECDEF.
How long would it have taken the troops to mobilize if the phone call would have been made in 60 seconds instead of 60 minutes?

I seem to recall a certain SECDEF who was in hospital for days following some "procedure" while his relief was getting hooched up in the Caribbean and neither one was reachable by the COS.

I went to 4 hours of state mandated election law training for my side hustle working for my county Elections Commission.
As of the time of this writing, we've already exceeded the number of absentee ballots that were cast in 2020 - when there was a full blown pandemic.

Impact to the election?
None - as far as MY state is concerned.
Still....kinda interesting to see the TDS sufferers out there flopping and twitching at some of the early voting in otha states.

I do not tend to vote absentee for obvious reasons (I don't want to have to validate my own ballot)
HOWEVER (comma!!!) The election commission has advised us to do so this time since long time resident new voter registrations have surged to the point where I will be unable to vote in person, day of.

 

Politifact - wiki - snopes - etc are recognized as presenting 'facts' from the left's POV to put it ever so kindly.
