Shame on my Pirus V 2013. Round trip 382 miles on full tank (95% on highway), returned home with 20 miles left. It was something I wouldn't expect from Prius.
Do you have a lot of hills where you live? Do you watch the power display and what kinda mp's you're getting as you drive?
I'll have to either carry the camera or get a better phone and take a picture. I regularly get 535 to 550 miles per tank, usually before the flashing indicator starts. And I don't do a lot of hypermiling stuff. I Live in the NC Foothills and I do pay attention to the display but not obsessively.
I easily get over 500 miles to a tank in my brand new v, if there is a break in period, and I need to hit 20k miles to see what I can really get then I am expecting 600 mile tanks or close to it. As it stands now I get about 530 miles before the gas light comes on and even then there is still a full 2 gallons left in the tank. I can push it if I wanted and surpass 600 miles but I don't want to break anything having to do with the evap system. Don't believe me? Check my fuelly! I cant believe someone could possibly get 382 miles a tank, something has to be wrong either with the car or the driver.
511.4 Miles. Woohooo! Wasn't really trying until I reached 450 miles. Then I decided to try and go for it, so I started using the ECO mode.
As someone who got 600+ miles on a tank several times, but now struggle to get > 540, I can say with certainty that it's the commute that makes a big difference in how good of mileage you get. My former work commute used to be 50 miles each way in traffic...so average speed was around 50mph with lots of stop and go traffic. The computer would regularly report 59+ mpg. I switched jobs and now my commute is 17 miles with pretty much no traffic. Still all highway, but usually running at 60 -65 mph. Now, the computer reports ~50mpg and my range has gone down accordingly It's a little frustrating knowing how good of mileage this car is capable of
