GM's Wagoner: Volt may not be ready in 2010

Lutz & Wagoner: If they were telling the truth about a 2010 Volt launch, then now are they liars? If they are liars, then when they say it may not happen in 2010, doesn't that mean it really will because they're liars? But if they admit they're liars, then they are really telling the truth, because they say they were liars? But if they ever tell the truth ... but ... never mind, I'm so confused.

That's a lie.

 

The thing about Lutz & Wagoner is that one of them ALWAYS lies and ones ALWAYS tells the truth. Unfortunately, we don't know which one is whom. So someone should ask Lutz "If I were to ask Wagoner if GM is serious about the Volt, what would he answer?"

 

In a bit of more serious note, what needs to be factored into the Volt PR gyrations are the feelings of the GM board of directors. It's those guys that worry me more than Wagoner and Lutz. They have the power to torpedo the Volt effort outright. Most all discusions of the Volt introduction (or failed introduction) overlooks that a lot of the PR oscillations may be due to ongoing conflicts in the GM boardroom. (Remember the fanfair when Ross Perot became part of GM?)
