I used it all last winter. I'm not foolish enough to need to go out when the weather is terrible. I stay prepared.

For some reason we have a new Hummer in our little town’s GM. It is massive. It would swallow my old 4Runner.

Half a year? Try 350 of 365 days.

I don't go out in my car if it's nasty either. No reason to.

I have a car (2017 Prius Prime Advanced), I've never been to church, I visit family all the time (went this weekend), I do all my grocery shopping, including Costco on the e-bikes (we have bikes that can handle up to 500 pounds of cargo), and I ride all winter. They have this amazing invention called a "coat" that makes that possible.

And getting 2,200MPGe, and getting exercise, and parking right next to the front door.

90+% of my grocery trips are under 50 pounds of stuff, and under 2 miles from my house (I have three grocery stores within 1.6 miles). It's actually faster to get there on the bike than in the car because there are no lights or traffic on the trails, and I can park 10 feet from the front door. These aren't regular bikes. They're e-bikes and they are designed for cargo. One of them can carry two people and 100 pounds of cargo at the same time. We once rode it on a 104 mile round-trip with two people and cargo (and used under 2kWh of electricity). One of the other ones is a two passenger recumbent that can either carry 500 pounds or carry two people and tow a cargo trailer.

You can't imagine how efficient these things are. I drove 6,000 miles on 100kWh. Try that in a Tesla.

Every mode of transport has its advantages and disadvantages.
In the area I live, such a bike could only be used about half the year. I would also need to have lungs that didn’t have the ailment I do.

I am curious though, your anti Tesla bias seems so strong, do you not see that your sentence would have been just as accurate by ending it with “a Toyota”?

They're e-bikes. You don't have to pedal if you don't want to.

Toyota isn't known for electric cars, which are usually measured in miles/kWh or WH/mile. I'm usually getting between 12-18 WH/mile.

Sure, but shouldn’t you just be comparing efficiency?
By my rough calculations, you get about 2500 MPGe on your bike. Incredibly efficient :)
Far more efficient than the Tesla (110 MPGe- 130 MPGe) and even more efficient than a Toyota (22 MPGe-56 MPGe).

Nice. But since you aren't running the EPA test cycle it isn't an apples to apples comparison.
My lifetime average on my model 3 is about 165 MPGe...also not on the EPA test cycle nor on your roads, etc.
