I thought this sticker would have the VIN on it, but it seems like the engine serial number (see pic). Does anyone know where I can find the VIN number on a 2010 Prius Engine?

As always, thanks in advance for your help. This groups has been invaluable!

Looks like the VIN is not on the engine, there's a separate number for the engine, and transaxle.

I believe there is a plate on the back of the engine above the oil filter housing and behind the timing chain cover;).

I know @sfv41901 showed us a pic of it on a block he had out:whistle:.

Hi all.. With the start of the new year 2019 I am determined to find a new engine for my 2010 Prius. The quotes I have received have seemed so "high" for my Prius.

    94k miles, $4500 + Tax and a 3 month warranty, installed.

I am now going to look outside of PA to see if I can get someone to swap out the engine closer to $3000.

Now that I have a little more time to work on this I'm crossing my fingers to find a fair deal. If I can't, I may have to sell this as is... I hate the fact that I love this car so much. It's sitting in the garage safe and sound but I have to make a move on it soon. Prius IV, leather and the solar roof... : )

I appreciate everyone in the forum and thread. #priuslover

You can buy a 2018 Prius Prime with $5000 rebate in NY and NJ area. Plus around $4500 federal rebate and dealer discounts.

I mean if you're going to look outside PA, you might see one of these jump out at you.

Thanks for the insight... The 2018 Prius Prime is a gorgeous and the rebate in NY and NJ makes it even more attractive. I live in PA, but I will do a little research to see what is available for Pennsylvania.

Since I'm in northern PA, I want to explore Prius mechanics /specialist in NY. Hoping I can find a reputable shop that can help me out. If not, a new Prius is a possibility.... Although I love not having a car note. :)

They are giving the Prius Prime away at those prices in NY and NJ. You can claim all the rebates and drive the car for a year, and sell it next year at a profit

So did you ever call the mechanics listed earlier in the thread?
