You should see the video that Tiff Needell did on the T-Rex. Search Youtube for Fifth Gear and the T-Rex.

Better hope the SEC doesn't monitor this board either.

    Well amped,

Can you answer this? Do you think any 2004 Prius owners might want to trade up to the new model? Are the features that desirable? Or do you think we will decide to wait for another model year?

Of course they are about to release a Gen. 3 model. I finally got enough money up to trade my Gen. 1 for a Gen. 2. Now it starts all over.... jf

It is often best to get the last update of a model because all the bugs are generally ironed out. Not as much with Toyota but still somewhat true. Start saving and when the first update of gen III comes out you may be ready to move on it.

Well, the changes (if they all make it to production) will address most of the concerns surrounding the Gen. II while retaining the distinctive Prius design cues.

I'm not the best one to ask about trading up since I go through a couple Prii per year buying fleet and selling privately. It earned a new Prius after two years beginning late 2003 counting Fed/State tax deductions and credits. It takes a little longer now selling locally, so I'm exporting to Canada and doing well.

Whew! As long as they keep it ugly, I won't complain!

It would be funny to change the shape of the side window outline and watch all the other car makers follow ... again!

Anyone know when (and where) Toyota announced the Gen 2 (2004) Prius? May be relevant since the Detroit Auto Show (the big one) is in 2 weeks.

I hope they'll also redefine seat comfort, interior materials, handling and reconsider Toyota/Lexus litigation-safe-elementary-school-teacher-granny-nanny Nav system.

Now, that's my biggest Prius complaint. We decided to go after market on our new ES350 after putting up with the stupidity of the lawyer controlled Prius navigation system.

I also heard they are working on a Hover Conversion for the Gen IV, and possibly time travel for Gen V. Dr. Emit L. Brown's son is heading these projects...:D
