Gen III PHEV Range: You want 40 or 12 miles

    That makes sense. I'm still not sure why Toyota/Nissan/Honda have not caught up to 100k warranties on their drivetrains. I think the cost savings of cheaping on parts for the ICE are probably very marginal so a longer warranty would be the ticket.

    The only problem with 10kwh pack is the low tax credit it would get. Given only 200k vehicles get the credit and toyota wants credits for their BEVs.

    Yep, I added a 20-amp plug for my EV conversion, and it is only about 1 foot under the braker panel. So it only took about 30 minutes to cut the sheetrock and run the wires down there. 40-amp would have been the same amount of work, but maybe cost a little more on the parts.
