    Thanks, this is very interesting.

So, the 19" tires are really a mess. The ride is too harsh with them, and they are recommending a lower air pressure to make up for it.

The 19" tires are nothing but a marketing gimmick. They hurt the ride, fuel economy, BEV range, load capacity, etc. It is a really bad move by Toyota.

    thanks CCS!

my gen3 measures 51" diagonally, and 38" at the widest part of the bottom, which is a couple inches above the floor.

great thread and great pics throughout. I picked up my 2023 XLE last week and I have a few things that I could mention. The trunk area seems a LOT smaller than previous years. I'm also not a fan of the styrofoam inserts that raise the trunk floor up ~6(?) inches. If you remove the inserts the floor that sits on them isn't strong enough to support itself. Just seems like a really bad design to hold an emergency compressor and a slime canister. My Ioniq that I just sold had this "no spare, use this instead" idea and I think it's really just the manufacturers cheapening out. I really hope that an aftermarket trunk floor is invented or I might create one myself.

The entertainment system. Mine only came with the standard 8" screen although I would have preferred the larger screen. I just didn't want AWD. I have no need for it in South TX. Also, this built in wifi thing is a waste. When you get into the car, you have to sign a phone in or maps won't run at all. I could be wrong though. Still trying to experiment with it when the wife doesnt have the car. lol....

I'm not a fan of the speed limit sign always on the dashboard and turning red when I exceed what the computer says it is. I'm hoping I can turn that off somehow.

I'll post more when I determine more but that's the initial (bad) things. There's too many GOOD things to list!!!!

Thanks for the readout. Very informative. How did you feel about the rear view out of the back (not when backing out necessarily, but when on the highway?

Could you check and report the maximum cold pressure on the 19" tires? 51 psi or 36 psi maximum cold pressure stamped on it? A picture of the tire would be nice, too.

even if the bolt pattern matched, the OD’s are waaay different.

where’s your old car; maybe reunite them?

Rides a tiny bit firmer but it's not harsh by any means unless you're the type that drives with your pinky in the air. They will handle better, not to mention they look way better. Buy a lexus if you want a plush ride.

    it's 51..

Thanks! I like to inflate them to 41/40 psi or even 43/42 psi. It gives much better fuel economy and probably reduces the wear on the tire as well.

I've been running at side walls psi. I put in my daughter 51 F and 49 R. My own MB 50 F and 52 R. Never had any problem whatsoever with more mileage and less wear.

I’ve got reservations about running higher pressures; probably a tough audience, but: tires are part of the suspension system, absorb shocks, from potholes, speed bumps etcetera. I’d think running max sidewall pressure (when you’re not doing due so temporarily due to being near load limit), you’re accelerating wear of wheel bearings and suspension.

It doesnt bother me at all. The Ioniq I had before didnt have that great of a view either.

Something else to mention is that this car sits LOW. It seems like you're crawling into a Corvette. The Aframe/roofline is something you really have to duck down to avoid. Btw, I'm only 5'8". I can only imagine what kind of limbo a person +6' has to do!

    THANKS!!!!

I read the manual on our first trip and didnt catch that.

The small trunk thing is annoying but that rediculous styrofoam platform thing is absurd. Wth were they thinking???

And underneath, a spare tire well.

As long as customers are snapping them up, paying extra to scalpers, erm I mean dealerships, and then cobbling spare tire solutions, Toyota will have no motivation to reinstate it.

interesting list, i wonder if it's correct and complete nd up to date, i don't trust dealers.

our 13 hycam has a full spare, but that may have gone away with battery reconfigurations, idk.

ah, ijust noticed may of 18 at the bottom.

Thanks. Yes, mine hasn't arrived yet, but, I sat in one and it is low. I'm no spring chicken, so I have to get in and out carefully. Btw, how did you like your Ioniq? Why did you sell it?
