My other vehicles maybe get 15 to 20mpg. So I’m thrilled at anything above 40 mpg. Best observed so far on a tank full, hand calculated was 49.8 mpg. Short 5 and 10 mile trips I have seen 65 mpg pop up on the screen when shutting down. Only issue we have with the car is the emails / texts it sends that the doors are unlocked. We Park it in our garage and never lock the doors. I got to look at the manual and see if I can delete that message. Overall, we like the car. Our first Toyota and first hybrid.

A Prius should never need a brake job for the lifetime of the car (300,000+ miles) if it is driven like a Prius—meaning only regenerative braking is used by avoiding fast deceleration.

You can disable the door lock note in the app and the rear seat reminder though the dash controls.

I need to learn hypermiling techniques. I will search forum for this.

Toyota USA recommendation, albeit kinda buried in the schedule, is every 30k miles or 3 years, whichever comes first. It’s not just when the pads are down to 1 mm, it’s a periodic clean, inspect and relube procedure, something you shouldn’t neglect.

The relube might even be more important with the use the brakes do see.

Midnight, black metallic so nice when it’s clean! My last four cars have been white, dealer called Friday said it should be 4 to 6 weeks to have my midnight black metallic delivered! Looks like you got all the goodies on it! I put my name on the list back in December!

I replaced the cute but not manly enough "meep meep" stock horn with a FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster. Took 10 mins, and dropped right in no wiring required. Ez $10 upgrade. (y)

Dual tone horns (high/Low) sound much better. The 72112 is the low tone horn, so you can splice in a high tone horn, in parallel with the 72112.

I agree and will probably add it later. My priority right now was just to get the squeaker out of there.

You don't want the horn to be tonal. If you do that, it defeats the purpose. The pitches of the horn need to be atonal. Atonal, or dissonant tones, are uncomfortable to hear, whereas harmonic chords are pleasing. (We'll just leave out the whole conversation about Western vs. Eastern music theory for this discussion.)

There was only one "meep-meep" horn? There used to be 2 of them. When did they drop the second one? That's getting really cheap.

High tone showed up. Definitely has more pop with the two.

There was already a spot for it too just needed an extra bolt. I used a cheap Toyota horn splitter harness from the usual suspects.

Nice job; however, rotate the horns so that the open ends are pointing downward to let any water that gets in there (road spray) drain out.

They don't clear the bumper facing down. They're at enough of an angle to drain.

Looks like the horns could be mounted on the other/backside of the brackets? Then no clearance issue with the bumper?

Alcohol is involved in some shootings.
    It is an alternative fuel.
Should we be posting those stories here too?

Went to I-95 Toyota in Brunswick, GA to pick up a part and they had a Black 2023 Prius Limited on display.
MSRP was $39K and it was listed for $53K but was on sale for $49K.
Told them I would love to have it but would not pay beyond MSRP.
Went back and forth, actually got into my car to leave twice and was chased down with another offer.
Finally they offered it for MSRP and gave me a good value for my 2022.
I now drive a 2023 Midnight Black Prius Limited. It is a hot-rod compared to my 22.
I have been looking for months and everyone I found was already reserved.
When I was not looking, one fell into my lap, right place at the right time.
