It's sad people still think guns are the answer. Seems that bit of advice has gotten us nowhere. Time to try a different angle, you know, just for a change. Maybe all along we should be trying to...all get along.

True, it's just words. But, for once, step back, and really think about what violence has proved. no...think harder.:(

Let's use less gas. That's a start. Let's develop renewable, clean energy, putting it on the same level of subsidies as the poor oil companies. Maybe the disparity in $$$ between the super rich and poverty stricken could possibly be a source of contention...maybe?

Sure, as humans we certainly have a few that don't share well, and that's the reason the system works so well for them. Maybe a new system needs to be introduced that favors all more than it has favored a select few.

Go on. It's okay NOT to like violence. It's okay to share a bit. It's okay to change things for the betterment of all.

I’ll take that bet… GW the cause of all evil in the world.. He even can change the weather and make hurricanes change their path and change the free world economy.
I don’t know you sir, but you need to get a grip and think rationally. Too many of my friends on the “left†are so blinded by their anti-bush rhetoric that one wonders what goes on in their heads.
My question is this the Dem now have both houses.. and they promised we would pull out of Iraq and we are still there. So how are they different from the republicans on this issue? If the Dems get the presidential office nothing will change in Iraq. So who will the Dems blame after that… :clock:

Thinking about this, are you proposing pointing the gun at the poor person selling "gas" or the oil company execs or OPEC leaders?

The poor person behind the consol at the petrol station is going to be the one with the smallest weapons, his are the same size as yours. Unfortunately he/she doesn't set the price. Oil company execs have armed body guards and OPEC have armys.

George Bush is not the cause of all evil in the world. He's not even the cause of most of the evil in the world. But he did lie, cheat, and have documents forged in order to get us into a trillion-dollar war we cannot win, and in so doing squandered the largest surplus in history and then created the greatest national debt in history, and squandered the greatest sympathy the world has ever had for the U.S., and generated near-universal contempt for our nation.

He is certainly the stupidest president in a long time, and maybe ever, and one of the worst presidents, if not the worst, in the history of our nation, and has probably plundered more wealth for his pals than any previous president.

But the only difference between the Repubs and the Dems is that the Dems are not quite as good at it.

How many children are you willing to kill to insure an uninterrupted flow of natural resources from the third world to the U.S.? The Repubs say "As many as we have to!" The Dems say "As many as we have to!" I say none. But I'm in a tiny minority. Even here on PriusChat, there are not many of us who would say, as I do, that it's never acceptable to drop even one bomb that kills a child. Unless you can guarantee 100% that your bomb will not kill even one child or non-combatant, dropping it is simple, cold-blooded murder. But the Dems and the Repubs stand arm-in-arm against me.

I've got no love for the Democrats. But it was the Shrub, G.W. Bush, who got us into this present mess. The Dems refused to take a stand, and they gave him everything he asked for, but it was his idea, and his project and he was the one who pushed it through.

Democrats and Republicans have at least one thing in common - they recognize that money is what gets them elected.

Well you maybe right.. but our Prius still needs gas even at 50 MPG, so the sea lanes in the middle east need to remain open, sorry.
BTW Bush is not running for present, so we can harp on the past or look forward. The Dems candidates have already floated the "it may take longer to get out" trial balloon. But speaking of the past… Jimmy Carter is the worst pres by far, with double digit inflation, high gas prices with gas rationing and ski high un-employment, how soon we forget.
I would love for the US to be energy dependant and tell those "people" in the middle east to find some other resource to sell and close up shop and come home, but that's not going to happen, so now what :smash:

I'm not quite sure whether this means that folks who work at Vale were unemployed, or that the unemployed were flocking to Vale for their vacations.

Get off that horse, will ya? Gore lost his home state, for crying out loud. If Gore had any real chance of beating Bush, he would have won his own home state at least. The man lost, and not by much, but he lost. Get over the past, alright? Ain't gonna change where we are at today by crying over yesterday.

I have not forgot. I also blame him for our being in this mess in the middle east in the first place. He tried to enter into a area that at best hates outsiders, at worse, will kill them.

He pissed off Iran with his meddling, then we built up Iraq to fight Iran, created the monster that got too big for his britches in the first Gulf War then we decided to get him out for good, a mistake all around, and now look: By most reasonable accounts, (even Obama and Clinton agree), we are in there for a while, if for no other reason to clean up this mess.

Will we be in Iraq for 100 years? I wonder if not in some capacity.

    Sorry. :focus:

Jimmy Carter entered into the presidency from Nixon/Ford, Nixon and Watergate left Ford unprepared for his short presidency, and things were headed downhill during Ford.

Carter was left with trying to get things organized again, but was faced with an economy that was on a bad part of the normal cycle, add the Iran problem and you had a very bad time. But if you look at the history of the situation, yeah it wasn't pretty, but not much he could have prevented, the oil crisis being one of them, its a similar problem we have today.

But by far he was not the worst president, the peace between Israel and Egypt, that has lasted for all these years, is testament to his ability as a diplomat.

But the worst president in history, WILL BE George W. Bush, every one of his policies resulted in people either getting killed, being under served or being taken advantage of, add that to the first time in US history that the US invaded and occupied a country under false pretenses, and you have the makings for a criminal administration that Americans should be ashamed of supporting.

If you mean the worst so far, I agree. If you mean there will never be a worse one, I paraphrase Shakespeare: "Never say we are at the worst. No matter how bad things seem, they can always get worse."

You gotta be kidding!!! The U.S. has been invading foreign countries on false pretenses throughout its history. WWI and WWII are probably the only wars we were in where we did not invade under false pretenses.

Its interesting to ponder what he can do between now and the end of his term to secure his legacy. What could he do to make sure to be the worst of all time?

Rumor has that is happening as we speak, I think plans are in the works for Iran, to get the heat off his administration and divert attention. Will be interesting to see if the moron follows through with his Illogical Plan, would be Diabolical, but he is a moron, and probably couldn't spell it any way.

But that would clinch his title as Supreme Moron and Worst President of All Time.
