Gasoline additives needed if Prius Prime is mainly driven in EV mode?

    Yeah I pressed that button a few times before I figured out where the charging schedule button was.

    A combination of the gas guage/usage circuitry and a simple clock.
    Not difficult.

    The car shouldn't have difficulty remembering the last time the fuel level took a meaningful step up. If the engineers chose to make the computers take notice of such.

    If they aren't planning to buy gas, whatever warnings the car may or may not give them will make no difference.

    That's fair. The lack of strong words in the manual suggests that Toyota either has planned for the engine to be somewhat regularly used because of the short AER or because of heater use in the winter, or that they're banking on warranty and that your engine will last the 5 year powertrain warranty even if you don't run it but after that, it's not their problem since it's out of warranty so if you want your engine to last beyond the 5 years, it would be prudent to run it regularly (and run it for long enough so that it gets up to operating temperature)
