We're down to $2.01 for E10 in my immediate area. Some of the cash only stations are down to $1.97

Our prices haven't budged, except for some stations that will be hearing from the attorney general. Still a ton of stations with either no gas or no electricity.

    Still over $2 here.

I suspect that since the summer driving season is in the rear-view mirror that temporary fluctuations will moderate as overall demand continues to decline.

I'm thinking we'll be back under $2 (perhaps substantially) before it's time to think about going to grandma's house for the Thanksgiving turkey.....

Diagonally opposite the country from the latest hurricane, the average is $3.10 here, with no sign of any decline.

We are still around 40 cents higher than it was pre-hurricanes in the Washington DC area (around $2.69 or so). Glad I have another 600 or so miles (several weeks) before I need to put gas in my car (will be my first ever trip to the gas station with my new Prime).

There shouldn't be one Prius owner complaining about gas prices! That's why you bought a Prius! Unhappy with the prices? Ride a bike!

$3.19 in my area. But who cares!

    Just drive it!

Since I started driving a Prius, I'm just a relatively disinterested observer of gas prices. The more it goes up, the bigger the number in my spreadsheet labeled "savings vs 28 mpg gasser." :D

So, how much do you spend on these things, per whatever unit of time you like:

    Gas
    Insurance
    Capital cost/depreciation

While you were still out of power, your AG was on CNN spouting fire and brimstone about gougers. She was PO'd.

My B and sister-in-law in Ft Lauderdale are in the middle of a 3 block square that does have power, but nobody else does. They were off for about 22 hours. Very lucky.

Sold my 2010 Prius today. Woo Hoo!

unfortunately, those comments from politico's are jus that, comments. they never do anything about gouging, and i'm not sure anyone has defined it.

You are sounding like my dad: only a single level of improvement allowed at a time, then don't touch it anymore. That gets aggravating when we try to replace quick- or half-assed- fixes with permanent or complete repairs, or with upgrades.

Exactly. "Price gouging" is much more complex and complicated then people like to make it. It can actually be a positive at times. At other times it is a negative and morally evil. Most people think too black and white to realize that "gouging" in small doses can have a positive effect on the area helping to get supplies where it is needed. Not at all times, mind you, but sometimes.

From what I can tell, she's pretty ferocious.
