What fuel consumption did the trip meter display for that 136 km? I'd take that as more meaningful than the 2 liters, and chalk the later up to some undetermined variation in fuel pump cutoff point. Those variations should average out over multiple refills and larger fuel quantities.
Started w/ 780kms range and ended up with 651kms left when I arrived at the gas station. Consumed 129kms w/ full AC vice versa out of the possible 136kms that reads on the odometer.
The Range or Distance-To-Empty numbers are a forecast of future results based upon recent but always-changing history, so are much less accurate or useful than many drivers expect. I'm more interested in what fuel consumption (e.g. MPG or km/liter or liters/100km) was measured and displayed on a Trip meter for those 136 km, provided that you reset a Trip meter at the start of that trip. If you did not reset a Trip meter at the start, then this information was lost.
So that should have been about 6.2 liters consumed, vs just 2 liters refilled. That is quite a difference, but I would still guess that it was most likely something related to inconsistent fuel pump shutoff.
I went back to the station and filled in again. Now, I was able to fill in 4.6L. However, mileage didn’t change. Driving range is now down to 647kms. So, maybe it’s really full already?
Not for anything I can think of now. This suggests that the 2L fillup was somehow an underfill, and that the surrounding tries were not overfills.
Just a side note when it comes to filling, go slow for the last 10 liters to allow trapped air to come out. With our 3rd tank up running on normal mode i estimate 750km+ before bingo on fuel, we should be able to push it over 800km before going on fumes. As we are expecting a baby soon I am going to gas up right at bingo fuel... need to be extra prepared. This round on normal mode we are getting 20.0 km/l on the computer, we will cross reference with the gas up and maybe do the Red Bullet upgrade after we get another full tank on normal mode.
