You can see my post above where I agree with you overall. However, there is no law of physics about getting more than ~112 MPGe. I regularly go for the a whole week or so without using any gas and I'm getting about 190 watt-hours per mile...this is about 175 MPGe. This is before accounting for charging losses (~10%) so it is still 160+ MPGe. Mike

I don't monitor MPGe because even if it was break even (ICE as efficient as EV in term of MPGe) I would still prefer to use electricity over gas. EV is way more fun, the grid gets cleaner everyday and the money stays in the country. My goal is mainly to burn less gas.
Right on! For me I recharge from the roof of my house as you can see in my Avatar. Now is the time of year when I am starting to make more power than I use most days so having the sun power my trips downtown just feels way better than burning dinosaurs!
