I know. I should have been more specific when I said "not the engine" - I meant that it's not loaded with oil sludge. There's no sludge at all. I'll run the diagnostic tomorrow when the software gets here and go from there. In the meantime, I'll never set foot in that dealership again.

What j2534 protocol device did you buy?

Note if you bought the mini vci off of Amazon for ~$20, you’ll probably have some setup to do;).

But you can get it eventually :).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

Anything different about the fuel into that car lately? Lousy fuel can cause a whole mess of problems.

I'm pretty good with computers, but I opted for the DIAGKING ($60). They offer tech support, which I hope I don't need, but I'm not wasting time troubleshooting software when $40 will pay for someone to remotely access my laptop* and do it for me.

*I'm installing it on an old, but functioning laptop, that I've wiped clean.

No, it's rare for me to purchase gasoline outside of the Sheetz near my house. Every now and again I'll notice I'm low on fuel when I'm not close to home, but I'm pretty good about keeping it gassed up.

Side note: For the East Coasters reading this, I'm aware that Wawa is superior and I miss living close to one.

Ok. It's possible for a station to get a bad batch, but chances are you would have heard about it from a local acquaintance/read about it in local media. That kind of thing gets around. You can probably discount the idea of bad fuel.

I think you have a sound plan for the techstream setup. I haven't had to tool up for that yet, but I already have the carefree laptop setup with software for another car, so it probably wouldn't be much beyond.

    Good luck!

I know my parents have gotten some bad gas from the Sheetz by the Luzerne Bank in Trucksville . They stay away from that and if they buy imbthe Dallas Area will stop by the Newell Fuel station across the street or the PSC station by Frontier on the Tunkhannock Highway ;).

    Some other options(y).

The one at the end of the expressway (if traveling Northbound)?

The one just down the road from Fire and Ice restaurant as you go from Shavertown toward Trucksville.

Right on the Dallas Memorial Highway (or 309).

I've burned their gas in all of our current cars without issue, but I haven't traveled in northern PA since the 80s.

On the other hand... Sheetz food? I spent 12 days in India eating any random thing that caught my eye and it did less harm to me than one Sheetz hot breakfast. That's where you'd really miss a WaWa.

Good to know. That puts poor fuel back on the menu because that's where I stopped going as of 5 seconds ago. The bank in the adjacent parking lot is a different one, but that's no matter. I live nearby and there are at least 3 other gas stations I can visit along the Memorial.

It might be called Community Bank now:cool:.

That bank has changed names several times since it was built in the early 2000’s. Where the Sheetz sits is actually an old LL Richardson’s Dodge dealership back into the 90’s;).

But there are plenty of gas stations around in a 3 mile radius of the Sheetz:).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

I never had a problem with Sheetz food until I relocated to The Poconos and lived less than a mile from a Wawa. I had no idea what I had been missing! They have the BEST coffee, but I gave it all up for a better school district. Some days, it doesn't seem worth it.

    Dallas or Lake-Lehman ?

I’m a black knight and they had a good public school system. We even won the Old Shoe a time or 2 when I was in high school:).

I have a friend whose wife works at Pen Argyl district and she says that their district could be better :(.

But they live in Mountaintop as my friend works out in Lehman. Kinda midway(y).

    The only code pulled was:
P0137 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

This was not the aftermarket sensor that I had brought in, but the factory one from the dealership.

Does this mean a new sensor is needed? That it wasn't installed properly?
Can this be what's preventing the battery from receiving power?

Thank you for the work up. If I'm reading this properly, and I admit to being a bit confused, it's that there's an open or short circuit in the sensor?

    It was $182!

If the dealer installed an OEM Toyota catalytic converter AND a OEM Toyota downstream heated oxygen sensor and it is throwing a DTC P0137, you might have a warranty claim on the parts and work that they recently completed. I would be the squeaky wheel in this situation, after making sure that the problem was actually theirs to remedy.
No worries, even the 'Pros' at the dealer(s) are confused at times.

On page 05-126 in the 'Trouble Area' for DTC P0137 it mentions the EFI M relay, an open in heated oxygen sensor, the heated oxygen sensor and heated oxygen sensor heater. And further down in the work up it mentions connectors, connections and harnesses among other 'Intermittent Problems' : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8CPDF%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/2054m/cichkint.pdf
This $30 socket might work, though many have ground down $10 thicker walled sockets with a bench grinder and had success : Oxygen sensor - collar around it?? | Page 3 | PriusChat
