I am completely prepared for today's garage sale, and I am not a little upset at my wife for scheduling it THIS weekend.
I saw some one-armed Barbie dolls in an antique store today. Hope your kid got a good price for hers.
$1. It kind of disturbed me on a couple of accounts, one that she would sell it, and two that some little crosseyed skinhead would buy it. Yuk.
We love to tell a story in our family about my youngest daughter who, when she was very young, was found with her Barbies all tied up, hanging upside down... and they were naked. I have NO idea where she got that from.
I recenctly read or heard an article about how disfiguring their Barbie Dollls is kind of an end of childhood rite of passage for most little girls. I did it to mine (back in the late 60s). Gave them all punk haircuts and pierced their ears. Glad to hear that it's normal.
A few years ago my middle daughter wanted an aussie version of barbie that came with punk hair, tatoos, and piercings. If memory serves it was called a Feral Cheryl doll.
