FREE Earth Day Charge Point Card

FYI. You can use a charge point station without a card. You just need to call charge point when you are at the station and answer a few questions and they can activate the station for you to charge

 

Yup, just did and it worked. Had to give out some personal info like phone # and email addr and it was on. though I probably don't want to call too many times and hope the card arrives fast :rockon:

 

Has anyone got their cards yet? I registered on the 18th and still waiting ...

 

Seems that Charge Point Co. is very slow at certain procedures.
I contact them on April 9th requesting information about pricing and sales of their commercial EVSE in behalf of the Company I work with. I received a replay the same day indicting that somebody will get back to me for the sales prospective.
Until today 2 weeks after the fact, nobody has contact me. Do they have an active sales force? who knows........

 

Sounds like a marketing plan. Gather a bunch of names and tell them they're going to get something. Then sell the names and pocket the cash.

That's exactly what throw-away e-mails were made for!

 

Just received two cards, one for me and another for my wife even though she haven't sat in the driver's seat even once!

I ordered mine on Saturday..... How long did it take to get ?

 

I ordered mine on the evening of 4/16/12, and received today 4/24/12 - about 8 days?

 

I ordered mine the day or two after this post so I'll say 4/18 and my wife ordered hers over the weekend so they are sending them out in batches.

 

I'm still waiting for mine -- ordered on 4/18.

 

You'll probably get it tomorrow. I'm only 35 miles north east of Campbell and the postmark was 4/23.

 

I happen to go over to the building next door (265 Franklin Street in Boston) today, to checkout their 4 chargepoints (I am thinking of moving over to that parking garage, but the one I am in has no issues with me plugging in to the 120V outlets, so maybe not), anyway, I took a few pictures while checking them out. They where all "ICED" but the garage attendants have the keys, so they will move a car if you need to use one of the EVSE's... which are free (for now), however, the garage costs money to park in, of course.

 

Some were wondering if this would be a card valid only at free stations: When I activated the card, I had no problem specifying a credit card and validating the tag for use at pay stations. Of course, the real test would be to actually USE it at a pay station.

 

It finally arrived in my mail today, so took about 7 calendar days. Yeehaw!

 

Received my free card today. I don't even have an EV/PHEV to charge yet...

 

I also got mine today and registered. Supposedly my PIP arrives this week!

Mine was in today's mail, too. Pretty dinky card. Not like the regular CC sized card a Blink guy showed me yesterday for their system.

I think both must use RFID - and I know some people aren't down with all the RFID chips floating around. So that's something to think about. Personally, I don't care if my charging proclivities are recorded. But I know people who do, and I understand their concerns.

 

Yes! got mine today.... now, I need to drive somewhere I can test the chargepoint!

 

Got mine today too. I'll throw it in the glove box with my Blink one for use "someday"... I also have 30 free mins on a Car2Go that I need to try out soon.
