    Ultra Charged automatic transmission or something like that.

    2-mode hybrid is basically a souped up four speed automatic transmission with a battery pack to assist.

    It is all in how something is marketed.... To extend your example if it were marketed as a Torque boosting electrical system along with some test results that showed a .5 second gain in 0-60 (which wouldn't necessarily have to come directly from the hybrid power system; it could come from lighter weight), the muscle car crowd would be all over the Tahoe (there would be a wait list similar to what the Prius experienced in the early years, and dealers would be charging premiums for each hybrid Tahoe they sold).

    It is all in the marketing.
