    Just ordered mine right now.

I called first and he mentioned something about the shipping package to remove 2 screws for the DVD before you install it in your car. He also said he would send me a video with it.

Sounds like some folks did not remove the screws for shipping and when they self installed them they had trouble.

    my2cents.

Good to know. It's probably standard to screw down the DVD innards. The video is a link to a YouTube video of a Rosen install! But, it does show you how to take the dash apart. Here is the link:

Also how many video inputs are there? Which ones, rca, hdmi, vga etc.
I also read we don't need anything for the steering buttons. Plug and play right?

    Thanks.

    RCA video input only.

Got mine today from Canada. Had a COD of $48.09 (import duties??)

Something like 27 plugs and wires. I hope it's plug and play since there are no instillation instructions.

I posted the install instructions for the Myron &Davis unit (pretty sure it's the same) in the installation "stick". One of the last posts.

    xpcman,
Since you got yours can you do a picture and cable to cable connection diagram?

The rosen does not show what connectors are there and what wires do what.

Also the GPS antenna details for yours would be very helpful.
I see on the net two options, outside and then inside windshield.

My package came today from canada. And I had to pay extra 33.75. I called ups. they said it was customs fees. I had shipped other similar stuff from canada before with fedex twice..never any taxes. Could,it be a ups thing?Btw it is install...super easy! All the wires are clearly labeled. And plugs only fit where they are suppose to.

I've heard from Canadians that if you ship from the US to Canada via UPS they get hosed with fees. At least a few years ago, shipping via USPS which went through Canada Post avoided the fees.

Perhaps using the postal system to the US would be better too?

You might just consider getting it shipped, and plugging it in yourself.

It's a VERY simple trivial thing to do - pull off a little trim, 4 10mm bolts, pull out the old, plug in the new. It's also well documented. Not more than a 20 min job - or if you know what you are doing, a 4 minutes job...

Well not exactly SUPER EASY. I had to grind off the front nipples on the Toyota brackets. Since the holes were missing on the radio. But, I still have problems with trim position. It looks like it's 3/16 to 1/4 inch high. I will take it out and try to reposition it.

It has many extra unused wires for amps, video in and out, and about 8 different speaker wires. All you need to do is plug-in the Toyota Plugs - they are each different and only match to one plug on the wire harness for the FlyAudio unit. I was concerned that one Toyota plug did not have a matching radio plug. But the unit functions OK without using that plug.
I grounded the "brake" wire to allow the DVD to play while the car is running. Not because I will use it that way. But, because I didn't want to fish the wire thru the dash and mount it to the parking brake.

I also bought a 09 Camry rear camera and connected its video RCA plug and power line. I will pull the wires and mount the camera next weekend.

I mounted the bluetooth microphone on the steering column since I didn't want to be near the air bags in the window pillar. I haven't tested the cell phone yet. This is not a big thing for me. I answer the phone when I want to - not whenever someone calls.

Mounted the GPS antenna on the top of the FlyAudio case and it works OK there. The unit will not slide into place with the antenna in place. I had it half on the case and half off - then slid the antenna backward after the unit was half in the dash.

Now for the biggest problem - I got a "check hybrid system" warning when I first turned the car on. This might have been because I didn't disconnect the battery. Anyway, after 3 or 4 starts the warning went away.

No the The FlyAudio physical unit is much different. For one thing there are about 20 unused wires when you finish. The Myron&Davis unit is probably the same as the Rosen. Thanks for the instructions it did help with the dash disassembly.

I think that the FlyAudio and Audiovox units share some if not all hardware.

You need both a 10mm and 8mm socket and a 6 inch extension to remove the Prius radio and side brackets. A screw-driver can be used for the 8mm side bracket. You will also need two small male bullet wire plugs if you want to connect to the harness plugs for "brake" and "backup" lines and some extra wire to find a grounding location.

Sorry the Rosen unit has a very different wiring harness. Perhaps the Instructions for the Mayron&Davis unit can help you. Those instructions have very specific wire details.

Why is it called a bluetooth mic? Looks like a regular wired mic to me. I positioned the mic next to the power button. If you visit the flyaudio website they say something about how the mic on the head unit is perfectly positioned to reduce echo. Has anyone tried just using the mic on the head unit?

I call it a bluetooth mic because it's used when you answer a cell phone call through the bluetooth phone interface.

I did a basic install and plugged it in with no bracket and the access wires in the lower glove box for now.

    NOTES:
1.) I did not know about the nubs filing of the Toyota radio brackets.
2.) I want to try/enable the TV option but can't find the module.

I'll do a final install after I get more info and some of the bullet connectors.

If anyone has a part number or size for those individual bullet connectors on single wires let me know.

    For the price, it's great.
    Thx.
