No, but I believe it's the same push pins the cover for the oil change is, or simple bolts. Can't imagine anything complicated.

 

Now, compare my Prius freeway wound last week with yours. I bet you would say "thank god..this didn't happened to your Prius". I will probably just leave it a lone for now. Btw, my Prius is only a month old.

 

Depends. I can see the lower deductible for comprehensive because using it doesn't count as an accident. No way am I reporting damage in the hundreds to my insurance company under collision. Use it for two little dings like the one in this thread and you will pay for them several times over in increased premiums for at least three years.

 

Comprehensive is cheap and doesn't count against you. It covers hitting deer as well as broken windows. Witht eh cost of a Prius windo approaching $1000 it's pretty cheap insurance.

 

I'm not trying to tell you what your own insurance deductible is but I think you should recheck. If this can be covered under comprehensive the deductible might be less. I have my deductibles set as high as I can in this state and collision is $1K but $100 is as high as they could go on the comprehensive.

Also you don't need a Toyota dealer to fix this, any good body shop should be able to do the job just fine. You could get a couple of estimates and see before you decide to live with it.

Yes, I have. It's not very complicated - and quite thoroughy described in your owners manual. Check the section on changing bulbs (because to change either the front indicator or front foglight bulb you have to remove this panel too).

Whether to fix the paint damage? I'd be in a lot of doubt about that too. I had an encounter between the rear bumper and a smallish, but sturdy tree during the first four months of ownership of my former Lexus RX400h. The bumper had a 3" crack which I kept pushing together, waiting for "something more serious" to happen. In the end, the crack was still there when after 27 months of happy motoring I left the Lexus at the dealer to drive away in my new 3rd Gen Prius........
