I'm much the same way. The only thing I do think about is how I can maximize MPG by enjoying the journey... not worry about when I'll get to the destination. I've got to say, my stress levels have gone down during my afternoon/evening commute home. I see my MPGs slowly tick upwards while I crawl along with everyone else on the freeway...
The octane rating is different in the world outside the USA. I'm not sure of the numbers exactly but I believe your 87 is rated 91 in the rest of the world. Here (australia) we have 91, 95 and 98 at the pump. There is more information on wiki. USA uses Pump Octane Rating while most other countries use Research Octane Rating. Oh and petrol (gas) is too cheap in the USA, here I pay about $60 to fill up my Gen II with 42 litres (about 10 US gallons) of fuel and that has taken me 700 to 800km (about 450 to 500 miles)
Love when I pull up and I see the last sale was like $108.93. I think to myself, "I don't even pay that much for gas per MONTH!" and I drive 1500 miles per month. It's nice not having to go into debt.
I just filled up again...I can't believe it. Filled up 12 days ago and then again today. $35 full tank today. AND gas prices are back up over $4.00! This is craaaaazyyyy!
500 miles every two weeks here or when the last fuel bar starts to flash, @9.2 gallons/$30 . "One less thing to worry about...."
I have been driving mine for 3weeks. I drive a little under 100 miles a day. I got about 500 miles for 9.2 gallons. That is an avg fill for my prius on an empty tank warning. It has an11.9 gallon tank.
Getting shocked while filling up indicate build up of static electricity. You want to to avoid it since a spark can blow up the gas vapor while filling up. True story! SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 ? 2
Waiting for my first fill-up. Bought a Prius two days ago and left the dealership on about 3/4 tank full. Drove already 150 miles. I don't miss the gas station at all.
