Congrats on your consolation prize and the new garage looks really pretty. I hope I don't sound too jealous
I had to do almost a complete rebuild on our 90 year old 20x20 and I know how damned heavy those old doors are.

Very good progress setting up the shop today. After a 3+ year break due to the move, I now have a working air compressor and MIG welder again. I also finally got the two toolboxes placed where they need to go too. A very satisfying day!

Now if the replacement spring for that garage door would come in the Firebrid wouldn't be stuck in the wrong garage. It's in-transit on a boat coming from China I think...

    At Last!!!

After 3+ years the Firebrid is finally in the temperature controlled shop. Now I can resume the project. No need to stop for cold weather now!

Three beauties you have there, shop caddy and the gold. The Firebird front bumper and paint color bring back memories on my 72 charger 318 automatic with white vinyl top. Thanks for the pics and memories ;)
I'd love having heat other than firing up the propane barbecue grill.

Just received the Hybrid Automotive Pro-long system for the Firebrid's hybrid battery. Very pleased that it will also work for my 2010 Prius.

Going the two harness route or doing just one and sharing everything ?

Hope you splurged for the second and made your battery maintaining easy(y).

One harness at the moment, but eventually two (plus a third for the Prius C.) It's a 3 hybrid household. (y)

Note the "c" battery is smaller, so you'll need separate equipment ;).

But the equipment works and does it well:).

Good luck in battery maintenance land(y).

Reworking the steering column mounting. Where I had it was too close to the seat to sit properly. Still not happy after the change since it is now too high. Next work session I'll change it again until I'm happy with the position. It's on of those square peg in a round hole issues fitting the Prius column to the Firebird dash. I'll post a photo when I'm happy with it.

Sure hope you are OK. No updates in 2022 has me worried. I haven't had a Prius for 3 years but come back for the political views and thought I'd check in here to see how your move and the project were going. DIL still has a v but about to be replaced. Now a 4 hybrid family with 2 more sold on.

    Hi folks.

First, I'm fine, as is the family. The new house is fine too.

Progress ground to a halt almost exactly a year ago when my sister's '63 Caddy arrived and took up all of my work area in the home shop. (She lost her house in a divorce and I had the only available space to take in an 18'-8" long Cadillac.) That plus a fried laptop taking most of my passwords with it, followed by taking on another instructors classes on top of my own due to his hospitalization, and generally being up to my neck in the quagmire that is life with four adults in the same household... you get the picture... My posting above in December proved to me that working on the Firebrid with a collector car so close to it that I couldn't even open the door of the car just wasn't working.

Good news is that the Caddy left today. Tomorrow the Firebrid project starts up again finally. I have 3 more weeks of school to teach before a long summer break. Fingers crossed for a very productive summer.

So I'm sort-of retired, right? I'm busier now than when I was working full time!

    Bill

Most of my retired friends find themselves in that situation.
    I’ll keep working for now…. :p

    Thanks for checking in.

Having a hobby keeps us sane. Stay well. Summer break is almost here.
