A little roomier than the original location and much more roomier than that sardine can.

Hoping to break the log-jam in the garages. The cars (Firebrid & Caddy) are still surrounded by boxes, even after months of trying to figure out where to put them. Two decisions were made today:

    1. My wife and I decided that we need to build a detached storage garage behind the house to hold all of the $#!+ blocking up the main garage and shop.

    2. After discussing it with my wife, I have decided to retire on the last Friday in March.

Spring and Summer should be very productive.

    More storage equals more accumulation:whistle:.

I thought when you move you reduce not expand:whistle:.

    Congrats on the retirement decision(y).

Retirement - when you become so busy that you wonder how you ever found time to go to work.

Well, if the first week is any indication, you are so very right! I've been busier every day this week than I ever was at work, but I'm loving it!

Any Firebrid fever yet or still working through the "Honey-Do" list?

Congratulations. Glad you have a purpose for getting out of bed. My father-in-law also said he didn't know he'd be so busy. And I'm about nine months away from that state myself.

Just signed the contract for the new 20'x20' Storage Garage this morning that will be sitting at the back of my driveway. They are telling me it should be done by the 4th of July. :)

Firebrid fever, oh yeah. I wish it good night every night and sit in it about once per week. Until all of my other family member's "schtuff" moves out of my shop I'm relegated to finding and organizing tools and parts. At least all of the wardrobe boxes are now sitting next to the roll door waiting for that new storage garage... (If you have a daughter, you'll understand.)

The gargantuan lawn tractor I got from my sister is going out in the storage garage too. It's bigger than a Smart Car!

Try not to have Firebrid fireworks on the 4th of July.

I know the feeling. We had to put up an aluminum carport to house our old Farmall row crop tractor for the vegetable garden, The garden definitely helps with healthier eating though. It has been over a year since we have bought onions or some other vegetables. Now ae are starting to tend chickens to produce our own eggs.

Hit by another construction delay. Shortage of doors and windows this time. VERY frustrating! The 9 foot tall door should be worth the wait though.

20x20 just isn't going to be enough.....they always sound like they will be, until we start filling 'em up. Then we're amazed a how much crap we actually own and wonder where the heck it came from..

Keep in mind that this storage garage will be the 3rd garage on my property. The modern car garage is 20x24. The temperature controlled Old Car Shop is 27x27. The new one is intended to clear out the other family members' "stuff" out of my shop and a 10x16 rental garage I'm anxious to be rid of.

Well... at least I know that the Prii would fit in the storage garage. That's not what it is for though, I just wanted to test fit them in there. The county won't give me the CoO until the gutters are installed, and the gutter folks are backed-up about 2 months. Frustrating!

    Good news and Bad news.

Good news: The new storage garage is finished and most of the "stuff" is now in it. The old car shop is almost ready for the Firebrid.

Bad news: The spring on the garage door where the Firebrid currently rests broke with a bang overnight and the door won't budge. The original installer admitted that the spring had a factory flaw causing it to fail 12 months after installation. Now waiting for the replacement to come in... which is naturally back-ordered at the factory... without an e.t.a.

I went out and bought a new tool rack as a consolation prize.
