Unpacking these this weekend. Firebrid is going to have to wait a little while longer for its garage space. :-(

Priorities. 10 yrs ago when I moved here, my 2 sons-in-law and daughter helped me with 2 small trucks - everything except the Piano and Organ.

Daughter rang me 2 days later - "how are you going unpacking?".

I told her that I've dug a vegetable garden, bought 2 fruit trees and planted them all. Only opened a few boxes.

I don't think she saw my priorities were correct. Oh, well. I had vegetables in short time.

I remember one shift - on a Saturday. Wife had everything well boxed - including a small box for each of us - "essentials" for immediate opening. We dutifully settled in with our "essentials" - did a bit of other unpacking more at random.

Sunday Morning, we're dressed for Church, 2 girls yell out "WHERE ARE OUR SHOES". Woops. I was Organist, wife was Sunday School Superintendent - so it was a mad scramble to find SHOES.

"Never excel at something you don't like doing." That's my motto! (y)

And I really hate moving. Our last one was from Roatán, Honduras up here to Florida. We sold some of our furniture and most of the appliances. We managed to get everything into a 20' shipping container. I think we packed it tight enough that, if we stood it on end, we probably could not have poured in a whole wheelbarrow of sand. Nice thing about doing all the downsizing before the move was that it kept us from needing a 40' container that we could not have filled, AND it made unloading a lot faster.

@Bill the Engineer, I hope the unpacking goes well, you find everything (eventually), and you love your new digs.

Good news: Everyone in my household is healthy.
More good news: I got one bay open in the shop for a car.
Not so good news: That open bay isn't for the Firebrid project for now. My sister is going through a messy divorce and needs a place to store my late dad's '63 Cadillac convertible. I will be happily storing it for her until things settle out. (I get to drive a convertible to the beach to keep it in good working order. ;) )
So... it might take some time to get that second bay open for the Firebrid. I have a LOT of stuff!

Nope. Family heirloom. My late Dad bought it from the original owner in the late 1980's. Here is a photo of the Caddy about ten years ago with my sister and nephew. He is a college freshman now.

Second bay in the garage is finally open. Firebrid is ready to move. I just need to arrange for the roll-back to transport it.
