Finance Loan Rate ?

Regarding debt: Disregarding the 0% apr money I occasionally graciously accept from credit card companies that I collect interest on until it is requested back, I also have no debts.

I don't derive daily satisfaction from this state of affairs, so much as become uncomfortable at the thought of debt, and nauseated at the thought of paying interest. No risk arbitrage schemes would be an exception.

I counsel my children to incur debt for home and education only. Or, more generaly, as an appreciating investment. It is very typical that people find their enjoyment of an item decreases exponentially with time (yes, even the Prius is not immune), so ownership based on debt + interest is a lousy deal. And if the item depreciates over time, it is an awful deal.
