final verdict on sharkfin reception?

    Where did you mount your detector (low or high) and where did you run the power from? I want to do the same thing...can't make up my mind.

    I live in lower NH and commute daily to mid-MA. I had to replace the original whip antenna on my Prius with the Sharkfin Antenna due to low garage clearance. The original antenna kept catching on the overhead garage door, and the original owner of the car had already broken the antenna once.

    I am NOT happy :angry: with the AM reception of the Sharkfin antenna! It picks up all the static from the powerlines and drops the reception under bridges and in the country valleys I drive through. The AM station I am trying to pick up is about 60 miles away, but it has a strong signal - it was very clear with the old whip antenna.

    I've learned to live with it, but curse it :angry: every time I try to get the traffic report as I leave my house in the morning.
