Reasons behind the slowness of EVs adoption in US
I found this interesting, although depressing.

artificial sound in the prius speakers?
I am just wondering... Does the prius got artificial engine sound in the speakers? Im just asking cause ive seen some youtuber`s say they do and that the prius was the car that started this whole artificial engine sound b*llsh!t? The 2010 prius we had and the 2011 i have now for sure doesnt have it. So im wondering where these youtuber`s got that from? Does the american prius 2nd-4th gen got it? I know for sure BMW got it and had it quite a while... But ive never heard the prius having it? Wouldve been quite pointless aswell considering how noisy the real engine gets at high RPM`s...

Plug-ins get to 1.9% of global sales
Global Sales In January 2019: Over 150,000 At 1.9% Market Share
This is truely impressive and much faster than hybrids grew. Think of this as 2006 in terms of hybrids - when only toyota, honda, and ford were selling volume. Part of it is the US, China, and Japan have all incubated the technology while in hybrids it was mainly Japan with lukewarm response of the US. In 2006 the gen II prius sold 185,600 units world wide which was over 4x what the gen I and II sold in 2003.

Polestar 2 the killer of the I-Pace that is the killer Tesla
<GROAN>
Source: Polestar 2 EV Debuts With Estimated 275-Mile Range
We often joke about Tesla killers or Tesla fighters. However, there’s not much truth to either as proven by the incredible success of the Tesla Model 3 as compared to any potential rivals. Not to mention that the Model S and Model X don’t really even have direct competitors that have proven much of anything in terms of sales. . . .
A few pre-production I-Paces and journalist boondoggle to Portugal led to a lot of glowing reports. So January, 210 I-Pace were sold per InSideEVs, less than 1/4th of one day's production at Tesla....bwilson4web Feb 27, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 2,271 Likes: 1 Replies: 10 -
2012 Toyota Prius C
I have had my car since 2016 (with 53,000 miles). Currently has 80,000 miles on this bad boy. Soon after buying it, I experienced vibration when on the highway and even at low speeds. The vibration is faster when I am driving faster, and slower when driving slower. Both the passengers and I feel it, and it doesn't occur when I am braking. this has been a 2 year long ordeal, trying to figure this out. Does anyone know if a bad caliper can cause something like this to occur? What makes it more of a challenge is it comes and goes; lately, since getting my car back (after someone hit the back and I had to get it fixed) and new brake pads, I notice it even more. It vibrates so much I sometimes do not feel safe. No light pop up on my dash; I have had 3 shops look at it.. The first shop said new rotors and calipers, but google says the vibration is felt when braking, which is not when the problem occurs. The second shop says it is a mechanical/computer or drive-train issue, and to not...Patricia Morgan Feb 27, 2019 Prius c Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting Read More Views: 2,375 Likes: 0 Replies: 3 -
Beginning of the end for the Prius?
The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Has Killed the Prius And Stands Atop Its Grave
Those who frequent this forum know it's happening soon but we are in denial. The v is gone, replaced by the Rav4 hybrid. The C is on the way out. The hatch and prime aren't selling enough to justify continued development.ems2158 Feb 26, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 2,669 Likes: 0 Replies: 22 -
Hate against Prius drivers
I daily commute with a Prius 2012 but on the weekend I drive mostly the Forester or Minivan. But twice I had pickups tried to run me off the road when I tried to move to the right lane to exit with signal blinkers on. Pickup driver sped up and nearly made me get into an accident. Totally unnecessary as there was plenty of distance and I wasn't cutting anyone off but both times the same situation. Trying to change lanes in order to exit and a pickup truck refuse to give. Now I have never had this situation with any other car. But noticed this kind of behavior by some drivers on the road specifically when I'm driving the Prius.
Now I am not a slow driver, I daily hit 75-83mph on the highways and my avg speed is 29mph.Vision33r Feb 25, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 1,308 Likes: 0 Replies: 4 -

IIHS measures pedestrian crash systems
Source: New ratings address pedestrian crashes
Reducing pedestrian crashes is the goal of new IIHS ratings of automatic emergency braking systems that can detect and brake for people on foot. In the first tests of 2018–19 vehicles with this crash avoidance feature, 9 of 11 small SUVs evaluated earn an advanced or superior rating for pedestrian crash prevention.
The 2018–19 Honda CR-V, 2019 Subaru Forester, 2019 Toyota RAV4 and 2019 Volvo XC40 earn the highest rating of superior. Five models earn an advanced rating. They are the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018–19 Hyundai Kona, 2019 Kia Sportage, 2018–19 Mazda CX-5 and 2019 Nissan Rogue. The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander is rated basic, and the 2018–19 BMW X1 doesn't receive any credit for a rating. Pedestrian detection is standard on the Forester, RAV4, Rogue, X1 and XC40.
The ratings come amid renewed focus on the...bwilson4web Feb 21, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 989 Likes: 1 Replies: 0 -
