Prius! Impossible Girls
Not sure if this is the right forum, but I need to share the new Toyota Prius ad that is embarrassingly Japanese... Toyota humanized each parts of new Prius into anime girls. Cannot believe Toyota did this.

This week we dedicate the entire show to a discussion about the Detroit Auto Show, more formally known as the North American International Auto Show or NAIAS. We talk about the Chevy Bolt, Tesla, the Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivan, and much more. Join us for a solid hour of new cars, concept cars, things that make sense and things that don't.

Toyota Releases Official Campaign Teaser 'Heck on Wheels' Leading Up to Super Bowl 50
Here's the official commercial:
Source: 2016 Prius Set for Super-Sized Spot on February 7 | Toyota
And in 50, the 2016 Toyota Prius will make a play of its own, starring in a 60-second ad that will air Feb. 7 during America’s biggest sporting event.
Those guys up there, they didn’t deliver the biggest plays on the biggest stage by accident. No, they worked at it, bled for it. They practiced and practiced until it just came naturally. They had swagger, sure, but how could they not? When you do what you do for so long, great performances just become second nature.
And we’re not saying Prius is going to outshine those other performances – actually, maybe we are. But with 50-plus miles per gallon and a sleek new design, Toyota has a little extra swagger with this icon.
. . .

North American Car of the Year
Source: Car of the Year (Show #2001) on Autoline This Week
Will it be the Honda Civic? Maybe the Chevrolet Malibu? Or possibly the Mazda MX-5 Miata? Yes, it’s that time of year again to highlight the possible winner of the North American Car of the Year. Joining John McElroy to discuss these cars and more are fellow NACTOY jurors Kirk Bell from Motor Authority, Mark Phelan from the Detroit Free Press and Mike Austin from Autoblog.
Both the 2016 Prius and Volt-2 are out of the competition in favor of the Honda Civic. I'm OK with this as we don't need to have Prius vs Volt-2 advocates brag-whinning. My comment in Autoline Daily was:
The Civic was the ‘Putney Swope’ choice that avoided a Prius vs Volt decision. In effect, the Civic is the compromise candidate and not a bad choice.
As for VW buy-back, I’m pretty sure the non-SCR equipped cars, the ~380,000, EA 189 2.0L diesels are impossible to... -

Honda-GM to build PHEV's together
I guess the FCEV partnership has been working well enough to continue with PHEV's?
"Currently, the two auto companies are jointly developing only fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), but they aim to expand their cooperation into the field of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs), which are seen as the mainstream of next-generation eco-cars."

2016 Prius, Volt-2, Sonata In Top 10 Review
I briefly thought about posting this in the 2016 forum but it really belongs here: Volt, Prius, Sonata Triple Green Threat | 2016 content from WardsAuto
. . . I didn’t have to do too much arm-twisting to get the triple threat of the ’16 Chevrolet Volt, ’16 Hyundai Sonata PHEV and ’16 Toyota Prius propulsion systems on our 2016 list.
The extended-range electric vehicle, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and plain ol’ hybrid showcase how, through different degrees of electrification, there can be a green vehicle for every taste and temperament.
It surveys what the Wards editors had to choose from and unanimity that these deserved to be on the list. Of course there are the obvious openings when the cheat-diesels didn't make the grade (and had...bwilson4web Jan 2, 2016 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 1,306 Likes: 3 Replies: 4 -

Honda: we won't be able to sell gas-only engines in China by 2025
In an interview with Wards Auto, Honda's chief technology strategy officer Keiji Ohtsu predicted that by 2025, Honda wouldn't be selling any cars with traditional internal combustion engines in the world's most populous country. "In 2025, we don't expect to be able to sell conventional internal-combustion engines [in China]," Ohtsu said, "meaning we will be selling mostly hybrids including plug-in types." -
