The anti-truth of this anti-award: The car must already be sold within in the year of the award - 2016 spans September 2015 to August 2016 . . . it is not August 2016 and the 2016 is not yet for sale. Vendor 'demos' are Beta and should be treated like home-made money . . . nice to look but don't buy anything with them. Each judge must drive each car for at least two days . . . Jay Leno was NOT at the November 9 press drive or at the Tokyo Auto show. No drive-ee, no vote-ee. Each judge must post their write up and score . . . if you can't explain your vote, it is worthless. I am not anti-award. Just I do not like anti-awards based upon a fair and objective criteria. So I am not against the anti-lazy claims missing from this award. Bob Wilson ps. I can also write in triple and quadruple negatives if you don't want to anti-understand.
It's always a pleasure to converse with you Bob...but again...who cares about who hates what vehicles. Let's talk about Prius on PC.
Each of the (now) large number of hybrid and E-only vehicles that followed Prius to market has a most-recent-year sales figure. Perhaps a good use of this thread would be to summarize those numbers. Someone could do that? But let us not discard those with few. Some Prius-geezers here still remember years with few sold.
Something like this? Seems like 10 years ago to me and half-again for you. New technology is still coming yet I remember the Prius pioneers who made their own Plug-in Prius nearly a decade ago. Happily we're not so fossilized that we can't appreciate the rapidly evolving, new technologies. But haranging doesn't work. Bob Wilson
As usual with these stories.....the comments are more interesting (and sometimes more informative) than the article itself. I particularly liked the phallic reference, and some of the comments following other reviews were downright hilarious. I see our street cred is secure well into a fourth generation. Over 15 years and millions of hybrids later, people still don't seem to know what the difference is between a HEV, BEV, PHEV, etc....and they lump all "green" cars into the same category---even Edmund's. Maybe it's because of the similarity of their drivers? As far as the fake award is concerned..... How is it different from the Academy Awards? How is it different from political polling? If the idea is to generate generate click-throughs, media buzz and to give the Volt a bullet for their sales brochure????? Sadly.....it isn't sometimes. I've often said that there's more Prius hate on the inside of the car than there is on the outside.
