I see they list the car with only one key fob. I costs over $200 to buy and program a second key fob.

Just wanted to let everyone know that, after our three-day rental, we decided to purchase the 2010 Prius. We paid the asking price of $16,600 (plus San Francisco sales/use tax); one of the policies of the Hertz Rent2Buy program is that they will not negotiate (which is fair because the prices are well below Kelley Blue Book value).

The car's engine and brakes were in perfect working condition, as confirmed by the kind folks at Luscious Garage. There were some cosmetic issues, including a few scratches and a small dent and scruff on the rear bumper. The inside of the car was in nearly perfect condition. Also, the rear bumper clearly had some work done to it and wasn't attached fully (it was missing a clip), but that is easily fixed.

Overall, the buying experience was very easy. We picked up our car from a Hertz rental desk. And, once we decided to buy it, we stopped by the Hertz sales office and finalized the deal in about 25 minutes. We're happy with the car, but will let you know if anything goes wrong!
