I think it´s just a matter of getting used to it !
Finally we get power folding mirrors !
The MFD looks green as ever but it clearly has improved resolution .
Why they dont add some colour to it beats me !
It seems they are keeping the IPA in Europe as you can see the button for the system below the power knob and the sonar sensor at the front side of the car !

The front grill is ok but to me it does look like an after market add and not something that the car was designed for.....

Ooh doggie, I see some things that should leave some 10/11 owners feeling out in the cold ....

3-door smart key in the Prius 3...

Power seat in Prius 4 and 5 ...

    to mention just a few.

So you'd have to get up to a Prius 4 with solar option just to get upgraded audio built in? That's a step backwards.

.... or you can DIY, or let Joe's stereo shop tear into your new Prius to put in a new speakers, amp, etc ....
little heads up ... even a Toyota tech cracked a brand new driver's inner door panel for my '09 on first installation attempt ... so how do you think it might go at Joe's stereo shop?

Nav is now standard in 3, so it isn't really comparable unless you were going to get nav anyway. You can consider the 2012 3 a 2011 4 with nav swapped in place of leather.
It will be interesting to find out if the "power seat" is a normal 6 way power seat or only a power height adjuster.

This is what I got google translate to do: Doesn't really shed any real new information, say, about trim levels and standard equipment. :(

13, Toyota has been 11 world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opened in Germany, "Prius" Model 2012. Following the European version, this time the new Prius was also published for the USA.

This is the 16th, was released by the U.S. Toyota sales subsidiary. The current third-generation Prius in January 2009, debuted at the Detroit Motor Show. After two and a half years later, the first major improvement was subjected.

The contents of the improvement is common but essentially the European version. In the central interior and exterior renovation, sports a new look front bumper. I took design features a large opening. Daytime running lights added. Tail light, new color scheme.

The interior is changed from dark gray to black base color. Also become a new center console design, the decorative panels of silver was added. Push the starter, the blue of the image of the hybrid. Multi-information display, VFD adopt the latest expression.

U.S. version features a unique, new multimedia systems telematics, "Tune yen (entune)" introduction. This new "Camry" In what follows, the Prius was in grade or intermediate standard.

The hybrid system is not changed. U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is expected to fuel 21.68km / l city, and published 20.4km / l speed. 2012 model, will be available later this year in the United States, 2011.

So, all Prius 2, 3 and 4 come with a weaksauce 6 speaker audio system with no amplifier ... and only get JBL with 8 speakers and amp in 4 if you get the solar roof? What the *&^ ? Weird.

Just a heads up to those interested.

The 2012 MY PRIUS is scheduled to release in December 2011. Also the starting price for the base model II is $23,500. This was confirmed by Toyota Reps at the Convention this weekend.

Also it should be noted that the base model comes with a 6.1 touch screen but NOT a backup camera.

    :)

Didn't the first info specifically say the backup camera was standard?
The camera will be mandatory by 2014, so I'm surprised they would add the large screen for just a radio without also adding the backup camera. Maybe the camera will be a dealer installed accessory.

I completely agree. The reps at the show and the car I drove, and the signage and PRESS release i received at the show seem to disagree. As you can see from this image... the backup cam is OPTIONAL not standard.

I think it would great to make it standard, but it seems at this point its not ... We can only hope this isn't the "official" 2012 that will be released this December.

Well just the JBL GreenEdge Audio. In its place, you get a Display Audio system with a 6.1" touchscreen, Entune and bluetooth audio streaming (previously limited to navigation models).

Any idea when Toyota will update their website from the 2011 Prius to the 2012?

From what I've read it's "with on/off switch".

cproaudio confirmed (seen with his own eyes) that the 2012 will have AUTO ON headlights, as opposed to AUTO OFF headlights we have in the 10/11. The difference is as follows:

AUTO ON--when left in the AUTO ON position, headlights will automatically turn on when it gets dark and shut off when it gets light again. Additionally, this feature can be disabled as it will have a on/off switch in addition to AUTO ON.

AUTO OFF--when left in the on position, headlights will automatically turn off when you shut down the car and turn back on when you start up again, but it won't turn on/off depending on lighting conditions.

Do you know if that that means it will be available for purchase at a Toyota dealership in December 2011? Or is there a lag time after the release date?

From my understanding it means that some dealerships will have the 2012 available in December.

    You are correct.

AUTO-OFF headlights for the Two & Three
Automatic headlights (Light Control System) for the Four and Five.
