Exactly how do the friction brakes work?

    Brake light switch. I just have to tap my brake pedal and my Prius CC disengages. On my FJ I have to tap the brake slightly more, but it's still a "tap" not an outright brake application. Consider having the switch adjusted

    Correct, this is called "drum in hat" in North America, am unsure of the term used in the EU

    My FJ Cruiser parking brake is the same, as it has rear disk brakes. See attached pdf
