Ever see an entire newspaper go through a snowblower?

What brand chipper did he use and would it help if I put the chipped flesh through a meat grinder too? I have made a note, remove rings.

I'm guessing that keeping the boat moving to spread the sludge will feed the maximum number of fish. I'm also thinking the open sea might be better than a river or lake.

Yes, I have - really funny w/ the "confetti" all over the street.

I also ground up empty soda cans plowing out my in-laws driveway.

Ours uses hydraulics for propulsion, but I'm not sure about the auger and impeller. I suspect they are direct drive.

My old Honda had conventional belts and a pickup plate and wheel.

Gotcha. The only advantage to a belt is that it will absorb the impact from a large object, saving the motor

Like industrial pumps. The pumps with direct driveshaft motors, have a flexible coupling that tends to explode if a large rock or bolt gets lodged in the pump.

With belts, suddenly there is a loud squealing sound, the smell of burned rubber, and a haze everywhere.

True Snowblower Horror (funny? yes!) Story :pound:

Coming back late one night, from a bad snowstorm, 15+ years ago when both my kids were still in diapers. :)

Seems the wife couldn't completely open the side door with the snow, so had resorted to "depositing" the many soilded diapers (just so happens both kids had the "runs" that day) on the porch, not in the garbage pail....

Now, of course, diapers are white. It was 8pm in a snowstorm, so very dark even with the porch light on.

I shoveled the steps into the driveway...(pause and think here)

Then proceeded to use the snowblower...which was right behind the porch in the shed.

So perhaps just 5 minutes into the *job* - the snowblower lurched, belched and stalled. A sound similar to when you vacuum a sock - minus the whine.

Thinking it was just denser snow, or ice, I restarted the snowblower, maxed the RPM, and WooHoo! let go of the clutch.

    Oh My God !!! :jaw:

The side of the house was now spray painted brown with bits of white plastic. Over the light yellow siding. (Oh sh7t crossed my mind)

The snowblower was hopelessly clogged, up the intake - it was now a useless tool, when my car was still on the street, the snowplow making a huge 5' tall bank.
    It's now 8:15pm...what to do?

Those diapers were jammed real tight. Tried pulling them out, just made a huge mess on my gloves, and I couldn't squeeze *shudder* hard enough. :fear:

    ...Blowtorch ! :D

...it's now 9pm...my wife pokes her head out the side door wondering what's taking me so long...smells the air, shrieks, and closes the door.

...leaving me alone in my misery. Apparently there were some 10+ diapers from my 3 yr old and 1 yr old (and a friend) on those stairs, that ALL went in the snowblower *at the same time*, truly a feat.

Was at least 10:30pm before I had burned away the diapers in the snowblower. There was no more orange paint inside, it was quite black, and very hot.
For at least a minute, it was chewing snow and outputting slush.

Writing this, I now realize that I could have washed the siding with the snowblower...rather than waiting a few days for warmer weather like I had done.

Moral of this story : blowtorches rule ! :laser:

    Holy ... s***!

I would have just used a tiger torch on the snowblower. If, in the process, the snowblower had caught fire or melted down, too bad

I have learned that when the machine starts blowing brown and green I have wandered off the path and am doing terrible, terrible, things to the bushes.

Interesting thread resurrection. I'd forgotten I'd even replied to it.

Too bad this new software doesn't support all the emoticons that vBulletin did. Oh well.
