    Not mine. I watched today when it went off EV and it was at 28MPH on a flat road. Maybe some cars vary?

    Interesting. Sure you weren't just pressing a bit too hard (or the battery hit 2 bars?). Is it repeatable? Mine is 30/31 every time. I wonder if your speedo is accurate instead of overreading as mine is.

    Could be, but in future I'll check those points! I wonder what the easiest way is to check the accuracy of a speedo? How do you know yours is inaccurate?

    Who can say for certain, eh? I'm basing it on

    a) what other UK owners have reported;
    b) comparison with the speed readout in the MFD diagnostic screens (which I would imagine to be an accurate rendering of what the car really believes its speed to be);
    c) comparing the 30mph EV cutout with the claimed 28 in the manual (consistent with the 7% overread I've seen reported);
    d) looking at the triggering points of those radar-controlled speed signs you see.

    Now, whether b is accurate, it's slightly hard to tell. But the main dash readout is always several percent higher than that number.

    KMO -

    Would you mind if I use your picture on my EV button page on my site? I'll host it, of course.

    Oh man, I'm SCREWED! Usually I get my fuel from the PV panels on my roof. Sometimes it comes from NG generators, and sometimes from wind. My car is even sometimes powered by coal-fired plants! Eeek. Who's that knocking on my door!?

    Feel free, but it should really be trimmed top and bottom to just show the dash.

    So now the question is do I want to chance vioding the warranty by installing the swich? If something screws up and I remove the switch, will the dealer be able to tell that one was installed?

    It's definately 28mph.. although I have had it to 29 before..
    Also my speedometer reads +4mph above the GPS speed (Garmin Nuvi dashmount)
    The radar speed measuring road side devices also tally with the GPS reading.

    So actually it drops out of EV mode at 24mph real speed.. annoying!
