33,873 total, 9,092 EV as of 8/1. This is the best EV accumulation on an oil change by far, given the change in routine. Anticipating 8k+ on this one.
No one ever accused me of being the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I believe I just figured out that I'm 'local rusty trailer hitch guy'. That said, I categorically deny the charges of padding EV stats at Circle K. Get-Go does have good coffee and gives us 30 gallons of free gas every month or two for my wife's fuel sucking pig, I mean pathfinder, so I'll plead the fifth there.
So this begs the question... Why should total mileage dictate when you change oil when the ICE was rarely on?
agreed. i change it once a year because my mileage is so low. but without testing, who knows? maybe we never need to change the oil.
Ya, if the dealers would have their ways we would all be getting oil changes done at every 1,000 miles.
i had my first free service at 5,000 miles, oil and tyres. it was like pulling teeth to get them to do the oil change. they have no flexibility whatsoever, and no idea what they are talking about.
no, they never touched them, can you believe it? they didn't reset my trip meters either, thankfully. they did put in an extra quart of oil though, no extra charge.
Jesus, I've been given an extra quart in the other brand since 02, coincidentally the first and almost every other one since, and on both our cars bought from them. Took the 02 to Miami after it's first oil change and got 30 mpg on the highway, as compared to 40 highway before the first oil change. It put a big dent in my trip down wondering what was wrong with the car. Took it to a speed shop in Hialeah and asked them what happens to the motor when overfilled and asked them to change it for me. After they changed the oil properly I got 40 mpg again on the trip back. what to discuss how green is your dealer? I can go back 3 cars, opps 4 cars including the Pip, and another brand that was one of the first I knew of to get a green rating in the 90's. I remember them asking me if they wanted me to have them put the slick50 I just bought in the car after they changed the oil filter. At least it looked like they didn't even change the oil and noticeable from the color on the dip stick no less. Ummmmm? no thanks but thanks anyways. That was the first I'd heard about the manufactures green rating from a dealer mechanic.
Just hit 10k EV miles yesterday. 24k miles total since 7/2013. Really did start driving regularly until 11//2013.
Was away from my PiP for a week, so Bisco's lead remains solidly safe. 10,304 today. Nearly 36,000 total.
