ethanol , how to prevent contamination ?

    thankfully, there is no "off season" for us.

    did you read the thread that described the timeline between fillup vs contamination ? this was not during an off season.. it was a very short timeframe

    I've left the lawn tools in the rain for the last 13 years. they all run premix 50:1 semi synthetic Lucas.

    at first I felt bad for leaving brand new machines in the weather, but after they started each spring with 2-3 pulls, I got curious and decided to leave them out, with no prevention at all, to see how long they might continue to give service like this.

    so far, they get real gasoline (not the ethanol garbage) and premix oil year round (saws) or seasonally (weed eaters) and a start each spring easily.
