The Prius is full of spiders due to years of taking yard waste to the dump. The worst is when they drop suddenly from the visor while you’re driving it’s worth a few hundred to me to keep it outside of the vehicle
I guess that’s the RS , which is going to be $$$. I think someone at a desk had too much time to create Equinox on the back, looks like Quinox with some blue stuff in front of it. You can always trade in, you have a lot of years left, why not enjoy not waiting to pull the trigger.
by the time it is actually available, if i like it, i may very well trade, or i might like the bolt so much, i'll wait to see the new one. tesla m2 might be available by then as well
I know it's an old thread. AND PC is a wrong forum for this. I already joined Equinox EV forum. But has anyone here bought Equinox EV? Any real world review from seasoned PC-goers who converted to the dark side ditching Prius and changed to Chevy? I am about to pull a trigger on purchasing Equinox EV either left over 2024 model with a deep discount or 2025 model with my desired level of options.
There are some great reviews over at bolt.org, and the quality of my Chevy bolt is equal to Toyota so far, but it’s only a year and a half old, with 8,000 miles. I hear there are some great equinox and blazer deals
Yeah, I was hoping we did not have to buy a second car... but as turned out, our Ford Escape PHEV is now recalled and Ford told the owners not to plug-in until they figure out the remedy (for unknown duration now but can be a very long wait) due to potential fire from faulty battery short circuiting. We can drive it as a HEV purely on gasoline energy... but that defeats the whole purpose of driving PHEV. Alas, search for daily driver BEV while I can still get federal tax credit and state incentive. Looked at Prologue, Solterra, bz4X, EV5, MachE... but Equinox seems to be the best deal right now. Not as cheap as Bolt was but still starting at $33,600 base LT trim with 319 miles of EV range, there just aren't much competitions out there right now.
I wonder if the Ford remedy will be similar to the Chrysler/ Dodge remedy where ultimately it took software updates for the entire fleet - as well as new traction packs for some of the fleet. We've ben running a new traction pack for the past few months in our Chrysler minivan. A great remedy on a van that's between 6 & 7 yrs old. They estimate traction packs have lost a noticeable amount of energy after 10 years, so it's like getting a rebirth on a vehicle that substantially runs EV 90% of the time.
Ford solution will be software update. So, my guess is implementing software to program shut down at a moment of battery vent, then tow to a dealer to replace battery. I don't see Ford replacing batteries on all recalled. In any case, we can't drive it as an EV any more. Most of our daily drives were within the 40 miles EV range. And the car is now basically untradable with this open recall hanging on. I hope, they will buy it back like GM did on Bolt some years ago.
