Next time I buy a car, I am giving them a bogus work number. I told the dealership I DO NOT WANT calls at work and XM calls me three times in a week. I finally decided to answer it and they were pretty polite. I told them the tree coverage in my area makes XM cut out too often to make it worth it and they have not called me back.
My Advanced (Prime) apps work fine, which is really all I care about. It's just annoying that the somewhat useful regular Entune apps, such as nearby gasoline prices or charging stations, which just use the Entune app on the phone for connectivity to the Internet, don't work.
No update notice for me yet. However, I still haven't got my Android Oreo OTA yet, either. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
That's at least better than what I got - I saw the prompt to download the update, told it to go ahead and then it said "download failed". I haven't been able to get the download to succeed yet (tried several times yesterday and once this morning).
Do those apps work on your phone, away from the car? I did have to reset my location when I tried to use the gasoline pricing app, but other than that no problems with Entune on my S7 Samsung phone. I'll have to try those apps on the Prime Advanced itself. .
Mine updated this morning. After the update, there were some green lines around some of the roads. They disappeared after I restarted the car. What do the green lines mean?
My problem is using the regular Entune apps in the car. Most of the apps work just fine on the phone, which is surprising, since in the past, most of the regular (non-Prime) Entune apps would not run on the phone itself; they put up a screen that said to use them from the car. I am not talking about the Prime (Advanced) apps, which by design only run on the phone.
I'll try the gas station locator next time I'm in the car. I know Pandora in the car works fine; used it when driving to Bakersfield, this past Sunday (10-01-17). .
The gas prices app is pretty useful, especially if you're in a strange area and need to find a station. There's a data lag, though - I find prices are usually a penny off from what I see when I compare the screen and the actual gas station real-time.
Mr. Mercat, The gas prices are on the money; they round up the 9/10 penny. I just checked it a few minutes and compared app with pricing I saw as I drove past a particular Arco station I use. The Entune apps in the car that I use are only, this fuel guide and Pandora; I feel the other Entune apps are useless. Google search in the car would be great! The Entune phone apps for charge management, car location, remote climate control are cool. .
I'd be all over it if I had the cash and could justify selling my 2016 Three w/ATP. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Aw girl, somebody in Texas would probably fall in love with your 2016 ATP, since they can only get a few Prii out there!! Then it's just an easy flight to the Northeast to pickup your new, heavily discounted Prime Advanced!! .
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. You should give Slacker a try - better curated channels than Pandora, IMO, and sounds higher fidelity to my ear. IHeart Radio, too. But I rotate between all three depending on what's on and what I'm looking for.
You think so? I've seen 3 Blizzard Pearl 4G Prii in my neighborhood this past week, wouldn't be surprised if they were owned by employees at the mothership. I am so tempted. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The other possibility is that you negotiate trading your Prius with a Northeast dealer, but that's probably unrealistic. I'd put an ad out in your area, and see what happens!! It could be productive!! .
I received no notice about an update to the Entune system. However, yesterday I returned to the dealer for my six-month dealer checkup and tire rotation. I asked them to reprogram the system to give me one beep in reverse rather than a steady beep that might interfere with the cross traffic warning beep. They said "That's a $120 reprogramming fee". I replied "BS, I am not paying that to make my car more safe" The service person walked around and came back and said that they could do it for $16. I told him to make it happen. Anyway, after an hour and a half, a free latte, and a coupon for a free car wash, my car was ready. The $16. became a $20.70 charge after they added a shop supplies and environmental fee plus tax. I asked what kind of shop supplies and environmental damage we did by pushing a few buttons to program the car, but realized it wasn't worth the effort to discuss it. I looked at the form when I got home and noticed that they reduced the air pressure in the tires to 33 lbs. I filled them today to 37 pounds and decided it wasn't worth the effort to ask them to look at the sticker on the door jamb for the correct air pressure. I hope to not see the dealer for another six months.
Freaking outrageous!!! No one I know, including me on 2 different Plug-in Prii at 2 DIFFERENT dealers in Socal has ever been charged for this "minor adjustment"!!! This calls for a call to Toyota Corporate to remedy this action, refund ALL your money, and get a written apology from Corporate and the ripoff dealer!!! Hopefully the complaint will negatively impact this jerk dealer's CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) where dealer may receive fewer cars in the future, etc. !!! ☠ .
