Entune Phone Compatibility

I spoke with the dealer and Toyota yesterday. Some entune features including pictures, calendar and messaging do not work with and android phone or an iphone. they only work with blackberry. Toyota does not know when (or if) an up for android and iphone will be provided. My guess is Toyota will not support these phone for a looooong time.

 

And Toyota told me that Entune will not be supported on my new Blackberry 9850 in my Plug-in. But I side-loaded a version for the old Storm 9530 and it works fine. (Side-loading is supported on Blackberries without "jailbreaking" or "rooting".)

BTW, the messaging support is core functionality in the phone, not part of the Entune app. All Blackberries have it, a few Android phones have it, and no iOS phones have it. The messaging worked just fine on my Blackberry before I managed to get the Entune app on it. I finally turned it off, since it was becoming an annoyance and distraction.

 

Actually, that is only if the Bluetooth supports MAP. And even then, only some devices support some functions of it, not all of it.

 

Even though I turned message transfer off, I still get incoming text messages on the car; only the transfer of e-mail messages is suppressed.
