My Alexa in 2017 Prime worked for few days, but now assking me to update Entune. Entune is already up to date, but Alexa still says update Entune.

I was able to get it working by uninstalling Alexa full App and by uninstalling entune 3.0 from my Android phone.

Still the fact that I have to manually acknowledge that I am using data with Alexa was annoying, so I turned it off in the Car Entune App Suite settings and set to Never Display for Mobile data usage Notification.

Relatively better now. Now Alexa comes up right away and no need to start app or push button to start Alexa. But your Car Mode must be in Alexa. If you change your car mode to FM, then it will not work.

After reinstating Alexa full App on Android phone, it works much better. I dont have a prime membership but I just have a regular Amazon account, which is a free account.

Alexa is 300% better than Entune voice app.

Here is what I have tried

    Alexa, open BBC4 in Tune-in
Alexa, latest news update from CNN
Alexa, latest news update from FOX
Alexa, How is my commute to Home (note: if you have not setup home address in Alexa Full mobile app, then Alex will send a notification to your phone and you can setup home address)
Alexa, increase volume of my mobile phone to 10

The fact that Alexa can open Tune-in app and can open the radio station that you ask for, is great. Even Google can't do this. (You do need to have Tune-in app on your phone)

I was able to get mine working the next time I was in the car. I think I just needed to "reset", but it talks now. Now to figure out how to get it to do things in the car rather than the awful voice interface the car itself has - I hate playing 20 questions in navigation when it understood perfectly what I said the first time.

You are using Entune 3.0 app with a 2017 Prime?

Be aware that you don’t need any Alexa app on your phone but, you do need to link Alexa in the Toyota entune app before you can use it and then you will need to open the entune app every time you get in the car if you want Alexa to work. You need to make it part of your startup routine if you want to use it on a regular basis. It will get directions for navigation but you will have to select the route you want on the screen and then ok it. So you have to look down and touch the screen twice to start navigating. Still it could be useful for when you can’t get the voice navigation to understand where you want to go. (Note: applicable to entune 2.0, I don’t know how it works on 3.0)

Nope, I had to uninstall Entune 3.0 as I thought that may work, but it didn't.

Also I do have to still start the Alexa APP on phone, before it can respond to queries.

Alexa might be useful for long driving trips, but for short trips, it is an annoyance to start the Alexa app every time.

The Alexa app does not have to be started. The Entune app needs to be started. This might be different with Apple phones but this is how it's working on Android 10.

    Hello everyone,
Just wondering if you'all are also experiencing random reboot of the central control screen ( where gps maps appear) since the alexa update of the device?

    Cheers mc

I did experience one reboot, even though I have the latest software update installed that should fix it Software update from Feb 2020? | Page 3 | PriusChat

Perhaps this is a new kind of reboot issue that hasn't been patched yet.

I just updated the entune app and was slightly excited about the alexa integration. I got it to work, by the voice out is playing through my phone rather than the car speakers. Any suggestions?
